Greens Are Not Spoilers!

GREENS are NOT Spoilers!!!

The idea of Green Party as “spoilers” has been resurfacing lately. As if it is the Green Party’s fault that Bush is now president and that we are going to war because a few people voted on the Green ticket. There are a a few points that really need to be made, as they have not been reiterated in quite some time.

1. The Green Party won only 3% of the vote across the nation, according to the media.
2. Bush did NOT win the election. Gore won the popular vote by over 150,000 ballots according to Michael Moore in his popular book, Stupid White Men.
3. The Supreme Court, going against the Constitutional laws about this, illegally proclaimed Bush the winner.
4. Thousands of people were blocked from voting in Florida and in Texas, especially African Americans. In Texas, there were roundups and African Americans were thrown in jail for no apparent reason. In Florida, they were told they had a criminal record and could not vote legally. This illegal and racist activity did not happen in states where the Bushes do not have a stronghold.

According to the above, which has been well documented now on TV, on Radio, in newspapers and books, there is no possible way that Bush won due to the Green Party members being “spoilers”.

In my opinion, the blame lies on the following:

-- The 97% of the population who did NOT vote Green.
-- The Bush cronies who cheated and lied Baby Bush into office.
-- The Supreme Court members who thought it a good idea to ignore the constitution.

If, on the other hand, Ralph Nader had won the election, this is what we would have had instead:

--Cutbacks on militaristic funding, and a lack of warmongering.
--Release of Fuel Cell Technology for commercial and private vehicles.
--Increases of gas mileage regulations for SUV’s and other cars. (Remember the good old days when cars used to get 30 miles to the gallon?)
--Solar power running the White house.
(Bush Sr. dismantled this as a slap in the face to President Jimmy Carter.) --Increases in workplace safety, responsibility and worker’s pay.
--Decreases in pollution, and more corporate accountability.
--Restoration of our constitutional laws, and respect for our privacy.
--A balanced budget still operating in the black!

I’ve voted Green since 1987, about 98% of the time. We have 172 people elected to offices across the Nation and we are “catching on” to thinking Americans. The majority of Democrats have been doing us no favors, as they are kowtowing to the wants of the Republicans. The difference between the two parties is almost nil. Instead of blaming the Greens for caring about people and the environment, isn’t it a good idea to look into the ideals of the party?

Or would you rather be anally probed at the airport while on your way to a company training that you are only getting paid 5 dollars an hour to attend? And being flown by a pilot who gets paid less than a kid working at McDonald’s?
