Karen
Marie
by Nancy Ness
(for Marcy Devine)
Twas sixty-six, March twenty-four
The third of three, one to adore
My Karen Marie was blessed to me.
You held your own with brother Sean
And Elizabeth, your "Second Mom"
Just bubbling with energy.
Those teenage years you'd dance and
skate
Remember who was your first date?
A fine young lady, plain to see.
Then Chi Omega' s sisterhood
a UM grad, I knew you would.
Four years with honors, naturally.
Now venturesome, renouncing fears,
Bahama's girl for seven years
And back to Beantown's Newbury.
You fix their nails and feet and face,
And bodies if they keep your pace ~
A "Pat's cheerleader wanna be"
Now you should know, for crying out
loud,
You make me "berry berry" proud ~
Little Miss Lovely, Karen Marie.
