The Builder of The Garret

(as of 8/17/99)

I was born on September 13, 1978, in Lexington, Virginia. There was much rejoicing.

After considering the name Axel, my parents went sane and decided to name me Andrew. I have one brother, Jeremy.

My dad taught German at a local military school. My mom taught first grade at a nearby elementary school. Consequently, I neither speak German or like small kids. My mom then became a real estate agent.

Up until my early teens, my life's goal was to become a cook. This was unfeasible, considering my picky eating habits. A better career choice presented itself in the form of "Art."

Apparently, I was pretty good at this "art" stuff, and was encouraged both by my parents and my school art teachers. I proceeded to do much drawing.

After high school, I decided to skip college and head straight into my chosen career: self-publishing comics. Reality quickly asserted itself. After a year of working at a local restaurant, I decided college was a viable option after all.

I started at the Savannah College of Art and Design in 1997. My major is Sequential Art. With any luck, this field of art will stick around until I graduate and get a job practising it.
