Hotaru ran to her father.
Hotaru: Konnichiwa! Daddy, I bought you some meatballs with chicken.
Prof.Tomoe: Yum. Arigato. I must go back to work.
Hotaru smiled sadly and walked to her room. It was a purple and black room with all sorts of mirrors, pictures of her friends and her late mother, and a bed for her weak kitten, Arisho. Hotaru pulled on a green dress and put Arisho in her carriage. 'Nobody will hurt me if Arisho is with me,' She thought. Then she left.

The next morning, Hotaru woke up. Yes,it was Saturday. Michiru was taking her out to a kimono party. She took out the old kimono her mother gave her. It was red, purple and green. She went downstairs. Mimete was making cereal and crackers.
Mimete: Konni-
Hotaru: Yes, yes. Morning, you know I hate milk. I'll go and get something from Kaori or Eu-
Mimete: They are not here. Arisho drinks milk. How about you? Please... Prof. Tomoe will punish me.
Hotaru: Uhhhh, blecch.
Hotaru drank it up. She fed Arisho and Michiru came to pick her up.
Michiru: Hop in, Hotaru.
Hotaru: Yay!
The wind blew in their hair. Michiru smiled and drove the car.

Chibi-Usa: Ah.... Sweet roses. Ripe oranges, too.
Haruka: Yea. Michiru would love them. Hotaru too. And Minako.
Usagi: Yea.
The festival started.
Hotaru: Wow.... Arigato, Michiru. Come on Chibi-Usa. Let's play!
Hotaru chomped on a sweet chicken rice ball and played with Chibi-Usa.
The day passed fast. As soon as Hotaru came home she ran to her own little kitchen. Her mother had established one in the third floor of their mansion. She made some kitten hamburgers and some soup, tea, and chicken balls.  She had the best tea party with Arisho. Then Mimete called. Weakly, she walked down the stairs.
Mimete: Hotaru, your papa said to go to sleep. Tommorrow we have experiments to do. Hard ones. No playing tommorrow.
Hotaru: Yes.
Prof. Tomoe came up the stairs.
Prof.Tomoe: Hotaru, time to sleep.
He gave his daughter a kiss and walked away.

Hotaru woke up that next morning. Kaori was by her side.
Kaori: Wake up, we have experiments.
She walked out.
Hotaru hated experiments. She wanted to do them with her dad's helper
Shishimo Ko. Ko was very nice and smart and lived in the house next door. Hotaru went for her breakfast and slowly walked to her father's lab. She didn't want to faint. Ko was waiting beside Hotaru's father.
Ko had brown hair and wore a pink skirt and a purple top. Over it she wore a lab coat. Hotaru ran as fast as her little, weak legs could carry her to Ko. She hugged Ko. Ko kissed her on the forehead.
Ko: Konnichiwa, Hotaru. I'm going out, wanna come?
Hotaru: Sure! Arigato!! Yippee.
She loved going out. She felt weird around Ko. She wished Ko was her mother, well not as much as her mother Mirocho Tomoe. Mirocho was a strong girl. She has black hair and loved watching stuff about doctors. When she was an adult she met Prof. Tomoe and they got married. She became a doctor and had her first daughter Lounite. Lounite died at the age of three by lung cancer. Then they had Hotaru.
Mirocho got killed by Prof. Tomoe's first assistant Mallo, who wanted to marry Prof. Tomoe.
Hotaru missed Mirocho and Lounite.
Ko was there to make her feel better.
At Ko's house, Ko's daughter Ecirana was there. Ecirana was 18 years old. Ecirana hated light. Hotaru liked her.
Hotaru: Hi.
Ecirana: Konnnichiwa... Light is bad. Stop the light!!!
Ecirana looked at Hotaru.
Ecirana: You are enemy's daughter. Must kill you.
Ko: No, Ecirana, go to your room.
Ecirana: Gomen nasai.
Hotaru started cried.
Ko: Don't worry. Your mother and I used to argue around her. Your mother and I were best friends. She gave me a message before she died.
I don't know what it was.... I better take you home.

Hotaru tried to figure what her mother said to Ko. Hotaru went to the attic. A box said ' Mirocho's ' Hotaru looked in the box. There was a picture of her mother and father. A doctor's pad, a first aid kit, a bottle of medicine for lung cancer that was for Lounite, clothes and a letter. Hotaru took them downstairs. She found Arisho sleeping on her bed. She put away the stuff in her keepsake box which included a red ball that was her sister's, a collar from when Arisho was just two months old, a pair of her father's old glasses from when he was 12 years old, and her mother's rings including her mother's wedding ring. She read the letter:

  Dear Shishimo Ko,

  The doctors say I am pretty sick. I have a virus passing in my body. I have to write you this letter. My husband is making me an alter for the virus. I'll also call you so what's the point. Anyways, take good care of Hotaru. I also have fever and I am very weak. I guess I'll be with my first daughter Lounite. Hotaru has caught parts of my virus. Just the weakness. She's with Mimete everyday. Mallo tries to take care of her but she's avoiding Hotaru.

Hotaru read on.

Anyways, I want you to..... Marry my husband when I die. Love, .............................

Hi, I'm Mallo. I just killed your friend she's gone and don't even think about marrying Prof. Tomoe. He's mine.

Hotaru gasped. Who put this in the attic? Anyways, she couldn't wait to tell Ko and her father. She had to go to her mother's grave.

Hotaru told her friends. Setsuna vowed to go with her.
Hotaru: Mother... Why...?? Is it okay..?? Please. I want to be happy too, but I want you. Bye mom.
Hotaru walked away. She felt strong.
Mirocho: Hotaru......
Hotaru spun around.
Hotaru: Mum....
Mirocho: Yes... Show your father the letter. You'll have a mother and a father again. Do it for me. Remember I'm in your heart....
Hotaru: Yes mother. Tell Lounite I love her.
Mirocho: She knows.......
Hotaru felt more happier.

  When Hotaru told her father and Ko, they instantly got married to make Mirocho happy. Hotaru had her friends, her new family, her mother and sister in heaven, her kitten Arisho and her future as the princess of Saturn. Maybe this new future will live on, Hotaru thought.
