Fifteen Ways of Dealing with the Death of a Young Woman

Stoically

Death comes to all of us in time
It is just another aspect of living
We can only accept it
and carry on
Reflecting
I, too, must pass this way
perhaps... soon...
Dispassionately
She was my friend
I will miss her
Spiritually
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust...
Only the soul endures
to be reborn
here in this world
or in Heaven's kingdom
Analytically
A clot of blood in her lung
complication of the cancer
inoperably close to the heart
nothing could save her
Remembering
She made me laugh
She made me cry
She deepened me
She took my heart
breathed life into my soul
Grieving
Why her?
Lord, why?
She was still young, alive
Her life was so incomplete
Why her, Lord?
Why? Why?
Eloquently
This dear flower's passing
brings sadness to our hearts
Oh, that she could greet
the morning dew with us again
But alas,
such dawns are never more to be
Obliquely
We worked together
I am quite lucky
to have known her
Denying
No.
It cannot be so.
I refuse to let it be so.
She must still be here.
I feel her presence.
Here.
In my heart.
She cannot die.
Consoling
The pain will pass
It will be all right
Realistically
It will never be
all right
There is no
all right
to it...
Ever
Simply
She is gone
Honestly
This void
This aching void I feel
I loved her
so much
Crying
...
