You begin walking up the northern path, hoping that you've made the right decision. There just wasn't enough time to make a proper choice. The Providers were in such a hurry. They compelled you to act much sooner than you would have liked.

The path you have chosen becomes increasingly rocky and steep. Sometimes you have to use your hands to pull yourself up to the next level. The climb begins to tire you. But you dare not rest too long in any one place. The weather is growing colder and gradually darker. You have to find shelter for the night.

High above, you see clouds brushing against the side of the Mountain. Just below them is a tiny plateau, and on it a small house. You see smoke coming from its chimney and rising into the clouds, almost as though the smoke itself were forming the clouds.

Summoning up the rest of your energy, you slowly make your way to the plateau. There is a yellowish light streaming out of the windows of the house. Various thoughts crowd your mind. You know you need shelter, but you also feel the urge to move on.

(If you knock on the door of the house, turn to page 12; if you decide to keep climbing, turn to page 14.)
