CLOSE COMBAT



Whenever I start making one of this kind of drawings, I usually don't look for any resemblance with real objects. I just seek harmony between shapes and colors. It's only after finishing that sometimes the image "looks like" something to me. This one is just the case: after watching it, it seemed to me that these forms might represent two (beings?) facing each other in an expectant, aggressive attitude, somehow like two combat roosters just before the real fight begins. Excessive imagination?...		Quando inicio um desenho deste tipo, normalmente não procuro semelhanças com objectos reais; apenas busco a harmonia entre formas e cores. É somente depois de acabar que por vezes a imagem se "parece com algo" para mim. Este é o caso: após observar o desenho, pareceu-me que estas formas poderiam representar dois (seres?) enfrentando-se numa atitude expectante e agressiva, de certo modo como dois galos de combate imediatamente antes de iniciarem a luta. Excesso de imaginação?...

I started with an abstract model made in sPatch and multi-replicated it in Bryce 2, applying different colours to some parts of it. Then I took the whole set, duplicated it and inverted the copy. Then a simple background was added. Nothing special, in fact!...		Tomei um modelo feito em sPatch e fiz a sua multi-replicação em Bryce 2, aplicando cores diferentes a algumas partes. Dupliquei depois todo o conjunto e inverti a cópia. Finalmente, juntei um fundo simples. De facto, nada de especial!...
