This painting is (yes, you're right) about the NASA Mars Pathfinder mission. In the middle, you can see
the rocket that launched the mpf. In the upper-left corner you can see the soyourney rover that made
all the nice pictures of mars. On the left, you can see a view of mars
with the mpf just about to enter the atmosphere. On the right, you can see how the pathfinder landed.
Just before it was released from the parachute, 5-meter diameter airbags
deflate. Then, it bounced around on mars just like a big beach ball.
Don't be surprised if the picture loads very slow or that it doesn't look right. Because it is a horizontal painting and I want to give you a large detailed picture, I made it smaller only on this page because otherwise, it wouldn't fit. If you right click your mouse and select "save as", the saved picture is in the right size.
