Kia ora. Ko Felicity
ahau.
Hello. I am Felicity.
Felicity lives in a small town in the
North Island of New Zealand. She turned three on January 2nd 1998.
Felicity is half maori on her
father's side and half pakeha (caucasion) on her
mother's side. She is bilingual, and speaks english and maori, mostly
english because she lives mainly with her mummy. She knows a few japanese
words and phrases too, because her mother learned japanese, and also some
german words, because her Montessori teacher is german.
This is Felicity feeding Chimney
the lamb, whom Felicity looked after for her cousins for a short while
last year. In the background looking on enviously is our hen, Gladys. We
have two other hens named Muriel and Hilda.
We also have a cat named Walter.
Felicity's
Famous Singing Ancestors
If you wondered where Felicity got
her beautiful singing voice from, you may be interested to hear about Felicity's
Great Great Grandmother, Hinehou Tahiwi, who along with two other siblings,
recorded some songs in Maori and English in 1930. Te
Puna Matauranga o Aotearoa, ( The National Library of New Zealand),
the Alexander Turnbull Library's Archive of New Zealand Music have remastered
the music and recently released it on CD. It is called "The Tahiwis"
Te Whanau Tahiwi. Hopefully when we get permission soon, we will have
the picture from the CD cover on this site. In the meantime, please read
the press release here.
Copies of the CD are available for purchasing here.
('The Tahiwis' - historic 1930 recordings by Te Whanau Tahiwi (A9801)

Winnie the Pooh story
by Felicity aged three
Winnie the Pooh climbed into the honey
tree, and then what did he do?
Piglet came along, and Christopher
Robin, and Tigger, and Eeyore. And Winnie the Pooh was stuck (in the tree.)
He was eating some honey in the tree.
Eeyore and Christopher Robin came
and got Winnie the Pooh out. They were buying something for Eeyore. Winnie
the Pooh came up and Piglet was eating some honey.
They went to the shop to see Owl and
Owl was hammering.
