Through a Car Window

I saw a woman crying
I saw a house on fire
A man was waving for help
While a drunk went weaving down the road
It was all gone in a flash
'cause I was driving by
And I didn't have time to stop.

I saw a robbery in progress
A man with a hole in his chest
I saw a rape in progress
A gang of bulldozers
violating a virgin forest.
And then I saw a rainbow
And a field of brilliant flowers.
A sign said "This way to Paradise"
But I couldn't follow it
'cause a crowd of cars around me
held me prisoner on the road.

There's a lot of places you can't go
When you're driving in your car.
