Computer Art

>

I've used the computer in much the same way as I have used traditional media to create my images as just "another brush".

It's better for variations on a theme, one of my favorite concepts, probably related to my old music background i.e. Beethovans "Theme and Variations".

Additionally, the art takes up less storage room and is much cleaner to handle than traditional media.

Now and then I miss the tactile feel of the loaded brush against the canvus or paper. The media can be the message and sometimes I use it to create symphonic images as in the painting of the heads (Limbo) done in Photoshop

My favorite program for making art is Adobe Photoshop which was originally designed for editing newspaper art. It has more options than any other paint program I've seen. It's great for digital artists. However, sometimes I begin an image in Fractal Design Painter and then finish it in Photoshop .

I love the sea breaking against the shore. I've spent a lifetime in southern California and never tired of it.
