Wending its way across the Canadian
Hinterland, past sleepy meadows and
Icy glaciers seen on far crests,
Snaking its steel ribbons and sturdy
Trestles over gorges and ravines that are
Laden with berries and bears -- Man's
Ever-hungry spirit seeks its limit...
Somewhere out there, pausing a moment
To catch his breath and admire his passing
Over the all-but-impassable, the Surveyor
Places a notation on his map - "View Point, Banff".
