My most prize possession,
a little Blue Rose so small.
You have never seen one?
They are the grandest of them all.
I have a Blue Rose you see,
and gardeners all about
would come from miles away
to gaze at it and joyfully shout.
A Blue Rose is special,
they are few and far between,
a rarity among the gardens,
one many have not seen. When I brought my little rose home
for the very first time,
she was tiny, oh so small,
all pink and wrinkled too
She cried alot, I knew not why
or what they would put her through.
For she was special,
I knew from the start
that this one would steal
this mother's loving heart. She reminded me has she grew
of a little bird with shortened wings,
One that struggles against the drifts,
and fights for all good things.
Venturing to stagger
among the larger flocks,
chancing to be trambled
and yet she would not stop. But a day came about for my little one,
gazing at the rain
sitting in her rocking chair,
her chin upon the pane.
Her little eyes welled with tears
and to me she did run,
I held her close for comfort..
"Tell mommy,little one."
She looked up with those giant eyes,
lashes wet with tears,
and sobbing forth she asked me
the question of her fears."Mommy, tell me...What is deformed?"
"Why do they point and laugh?"
Her little voice broke and my heart
felt the pain of a thousand shafts. For My Blue Rose was special,
and children sometimes are cruel
but through the years a depth of strength
provided her the tool
to blossom forth in beauty,
to stand among the thorns,
to fly the flight with shorten wing,
to face the fearful storms.I possess a Blue Rose,
more precious then arts of gold,
and she shines among my garden,
standing strong and bold.
A special gift delivered
to this mother's breast,
from my heavenly Father,
smiling down on her to rest
her gentle heart within the midst
of long-winged fellow-man,
that gave her the courage and beauty
to hold and make her stand.
