 "Memories" ~CATS

Balance in relationships is hard to achieve.
It's easier to give than it is to receive.
I've been told to toughen my attitude
And give of myself a lot less
But I hate the resulting solitude
I don't see holding back as progress.
We've both been through stages of hiding away
Of distrusting and fearing the rest.
But we've weathered the fear
And now trust ourselves
To be able to cope with each test.
I've looked out of my hideout and into my mind
To create a friendship that's been hard to find.
It was then that I met you
And from that moment I knew.
There's nothing at all
Wrong with our way of living
Because friendship is for getting
As well as for giving.
