I gazed out of my window at the gloomy winter rain, the autumn colors blending, all looking one and same. The crimson orange was pretty standing out against the sky, but the bright spot in my garden is what twinkled in my eye.
There in the center amidst the whithered stems
Atop a scrawny little branch on winter-barren limb,
This little rose had tried so hard to stand against the storm,
I thought about this little rose as my day turned to twilight
Then the thought occurred to me of this struggling little flower;
