Can I

A Poem by

Can I Dare, Can I Trust Again,
Can I Give Love A Chance, Can I?
Will I Once Again Build Sand Castles,
Will I Once Again, Dream Of Paradise.
Will I Once Again Feel That, Special Rush,
That Level Of Excitement
Beyond Which There Is No Other

Can I Dare,
Can I Trust Again
For If I Don't, Like A Flower In The
Desert I Will Remain Alone
And Left To Wither,

Like A Child Reaching
To Touch The Water On The Shore,
Afraid To Feel Cold
And Scared To Be Swept Away
By The Waves Of The Ocean We Call Life.

Can I Trust, Can I Love, Can I Dream?
Yes, I Can.
Will I Do These?
Yes, For I Must Do These And More
For If I Do Not Like The Sand
Swept Into The Ocean Is Not Seen Again
So Will My Life, Be Swept Away By
Life's Ocean's Waves.
