You may wish to print this page out to follow the instructions as you go along. Step One: Choose one of my counter digit collections. YOU MUST download all 10 digits of the set of your choice. Write down where you stored the digits so you don't forget! Now download one of these: .................... and this: . Step Two: Go to Toolzone. Fill out their form to subscribe to their service by clicking the NEW USER button. Fill out the subscription for your new service. In a few minutes your login validation code should arrive in your email. Now validate your new account and then LOG IN. *** You will be albe to change the number of hits on your new counter to reflect current numbers. *** Step Three: Once you are logged in, click the ADD APPLICATION button. It will take you to a page where you can check the option to add a WEB COUNTER. Below that option fill out the boxes to name your counter (such as: my counter) and describe your counter (such as: sheepcount). Now click the ADD button. Step Four: This will take you to the counter configuration pages. Click on the link that points to the name you gave your counter account. At the next page, click on the button that says DIGITS. In the first option area of Digits is a bar that says DEFAULT and next to that is a small picture of a face. Click on that picture. Step Five: At the digit style page is a small button at the top that says ADD--it's a graphic with a plus-sign on it. Click that to take you to the menu that will allow you to add your "MemphisJan" digit set. At this page enter a name and ID for your counter. Click ADD DIGIT. Step Six: On this page is a menu listing the numbers 0 through 1. (ignore the options for clock settings). Check the radio button next to the 0 digit. Now at the bottom of the page, click on the BROWSE button. This will open the directories of your computer. Find the 0.gif image for the "MemphisJan" digit you downloaded. Once you have found it. Click Update. Step Seven: The page will then udate itself, showing the gif you have just uploaded. Now follow step #6 for the remaining digits 1-9. After you have uploaded EVERY digit of the set, you will see that near the bottom of the page it will say: DIGIT SET COMPLETE. Step Eight: Click on the button that says PORTFOLIO. This will take you back to your options menu. Click again on the link of your counter account. At the next page click on the button for DIGITS again. In the first option menu (where the first setting of default appears), click on the drop-down menu and find the name of the digit set you installed. Scrolling down the page choose your counter width (for example if you want a 4 digit counter, choose 4. If your counter is at 2,346 and you choose a 6 digit counter it will show up as 002346). Set the transparent value to YES. Set the hidden value to NO. Leave the cache value alone. Now click UPDATE. You're almost done! Step Nine: At the next page click on the button for INTRODUCTION. At the very bottom of that page you will see a small graphic of a one,two, & three. Click that to view how your counter looks so far. At the counter view page you can set your counter at the number of your choice. Step Ten: Hit the button labeled CONCLUSION. This will take you to a page that has the one line code you need to add your new MEMPHISJAN/TOOLZONE counter to your page!! FINAL STEP: Do the right thing! in exchange for their free service to help YOUR webpage, ask for a link back. And because you'll want your friends to know where you got the wonderful counter digits, I know you'll want to point them here too.
