Communications Manager In charge of all print material such as newsletters and magazines produced by the company and distributed to customers and employees. Recently has also been given the responsibility for managing the companies internet pages.
Marketing Manager Responsible for advertising, managing already existing products and brands, as well as coming up with ideas for new products and introducing them into market.
Director of Human Resources (Personnel Manager, Human Relations Manager) Manages all employee benefits such as health insurance, pension plans, stock options, and workers' comp. Also responsible for recruiting new employees, union relations, making sure that all legal obligations of the company to its employees are fulfilled, and that any amounts that must be withheld from employee pay checks are withheld.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) In charge of the overall strategy and direction of the firm and most important of all providing an adequate return to stockholders. He'll lose his job if he doesn't meet quarterly profit targets. Reports to the company's board of directors.
Claims Manager In charge of processing claims for compensation by holders of insurance policies in an insurance company. Must make sure that the claim is valid given all the conditions stated on the policy.
Chief Financial Officer (Financial Manager, Financial Director) In charge of accounting and all financial operations dealing with stocks, bonds, and bank loans.
Controller In charge of accounting for the company. Responsible for supplying management with financial reports and making sure that the accounting data entered into the companies computers is accurate.
Managing Director Responsible for the operations of one of the company's subsidiaries.
Plant Manager Manages the day-to-day line operations of a specific plant.
Production Manager Oversees production operations in all the plants owned by a subsidiary.
Head of R & D Responsible for research that can eventually be developed into new products.
Sales Manager (Head of Sales) Manages the sales representatives in a specific region.
Corporate Head of Quality Control (Quality Control Manager) In charge of implementing tests and controls that can assure a level of quality that is uniform throughout the corporation.
Trade Union Representative Elected by the employees in a specific plant to represent their wishes to the management and to bargain for them when it comes time for their contract to be renewed.
Personal Assistant (PA) to the Managing Director The secretary to the Managing Director. She has a special title and much higher compensation than a normal secretary because the managing director holds a very important position within the company and is very busy. So she has to assume more responsibility and anticipate the needs of her boss to a higher degree.
Sales Rep Responsible for selling the companies products to a group of customers that has been assigned to him. Has direct contact with customers. Makes presentations in customers' offices and makes sure that all their needs are met. Also in charge of following-up sales leads and finding potential customers.
Receptionist In charge of answers questions and directing people to various offices in the lobby of corporate headquarters.
Original Equipment Sales Manager In charge of sales to companies that use your product as components in their own products (OEM manufacturer).
