AN AMERICAN DENTIST IN LONDON
Part 6: Coming out of the Woodwork
"Mein gott!" Kurt exclaimed, marveling at the large amount of men that had
suddenly appeared out of nowhere. "Attack!" Kurt bamfed away, and
reappeared behind one man on the second floor, hitting him till he fell to
the floor. He bamfed again, hitting another man to the floor, and continued
the process with a third and fourth man. Rahne jumped up the wall, climbing
to the second floor and dodging plasma blasts, attacking the first man she
could reach. Peter ran to a wall that neither Kurt nor Rahne were near and
knocked it down, making a large group of men fall to the ground. He attacked
them, slowly and carefully so as to not really hurt them, and eventually the
group fell.
Which left the fourth wall of men to me.
Looking up and dodging the anticipated blasts, I absorbed the wall and
balcony the men above me were standing on. They fell to the floor,
momentarily disoriented, and I took my chance to attack. Peter, who had seen
what I had done and was "finished" with his group of men, ran over to aid me.
I attacked one man, while he took three down. My fighting style may not
have been as good or powerful as Peter’s, but at least I held one man back
while he finished off the group. "Good work, Douglock," Peter nodded when we
were done.
Glancing around, I observed that the rest of the team was safe and unharmed.

"Well," Kurt swaggered, "it’s pretty safe to assume they didn’t expect
that."
"Yes," Rahne agreed. "That was too easy."
"But, my friends," Peter pondered, "does that mean that were are just
fortunate, or that we are walking into a trap?"
 "Query, what does-"
Unable to finish my sentence since I was interrupted, I turned to see the
man who had begun to speak. "Well, it’s safe to assume, I think, that you
have just lured yourselves into a trap," A man’s voice said, but from where
he came, we did not know. The whole room was sealed off by metal doors and
compartments, and there was no one in it besides us and the unconscious men.

"It’s comin from there!" Rahne pointed to a metal slit on the second floor
that looked like a speaker. "He’s nae here, he’s speakin o’er an intercom!"
 Which meant……..
Gas quickly filled the air, and before we could realize what had happened,
we were all coughing and heaving. Kurt tried to teleport away, but he only
managed to bamf himself across the room, and fall to the ground, like the
rest of us, unconscious.

"Okay, okay," Meggan frantically worried. "What do we do now?!"
"I dunno, luv," Brian gave up. "I dunno."
"Do you think we should find out about this Friends of Humanity thing?
Maybe they have something to do with it," Meggan guessed.
"Well, I guess so," Brian agreed. "And, I mean, even if they don’t, we’ll
at least have the rest of the team to help us find Kitty. And that’s better
than just us two. So you know where they went?"
"Well," Meggan blushed. "No, I don’t. Shoot."
"Wait," Brian blurted. "Didn’t you say that Pete got hurt last night?"
"Yes, he did, at the pub," Meggan explained. "Why?"
"Didn’t he stay back instead of coming shopping with us?" Brian noted.
"Yes, but…." Meggan’s eyes widened when she caught on. "That means that…."

"Yes, it means that someone’s back at Muir Island, and we can call them and
get the addy!" Brian triumphantly finished. "Now we just need to find a
phone."
***
"Is she okay?" I hovered over Kitty’s limp body.
"Yes," Moira answered. "Well, physically, she’ll be okay in a week or so.
Mentally….well, mentally she won’t fully recover for a long time. Maybe
never. Ach, the wee bairn……"
My eyes filled with tears. Poor Kitty. So full of life, only to get a
piece of it stolen from her. It just wasn’t fair. It didn’t seem fair at
all.
"Don’t ye think that ye should be joinin 'em at the warehouse?" Moira
inquired.
"Oh, Moira, what if those men come back here?" I worried.
"They will nae be back," Moira said. "They came once, they won’t come
again. Or at least not so soon. Besides, they need yuir help out there."
 "Moira, I- I can’t help worrying about you and…."
"Do nae bother with such worries, lass," Moira soothed. "I can take care of
meself! Now shoo! They need yuir help!" I grinned, braced myself, and
teleported to the comm room, where I located the warehouse. From there, I
found out Pete’s location and warped directly to him.
"Pete," I whispered, standing directly beside him as he glanced down the
hallway.
"Oy!" he complained. "Ye sacred the livin daylights outta me! But I’m glad
to have some backup. Here we go, mate." Pete ran down the hallway,
constantly checking it out, and I followed his lead.
"Pete," I asked. "Where are you going?"
"To find the man responsible for hurting Kitty. And when I do, I’m going to
kill ‘im."
***
"Hello?" Moira picked up the phone.
"Hi, Moira, it’s me," Meggan greeted.
"Meggan!" Moira enthused, having nearly forgotten about her.
"Look, Moira, I have to make this quick. Kitty’s missing, and we need the
address of the warehouse to go find her. We think she’s there," Meggan
babbled.
"Meggan, we found her. But they’re goin’ to need ye o’er at the warehouse.
Hold on a second, let me gather the address." Moira ran down the hall, only
to arrive at a computer terminal, type some things in, and run back to it.
"They’re at 2 Tardis Lane. It’s an abandoned warehouse. It’s in the upper
part of London. Do you know where that is?"
"No, but we can find out, I’m sure," Meggan replied. "Thanks, Moira. Is
Kitty okay?"
"Well, Meggan, not really. But I have to go treat her. I’m sorry.
Good-bye." Moira hurriedly hung up the phone and returned to her patient,
while Meggan turned from the phone booth and walked over to Brian. Telling
him what happened, they took off in the air in that direction. Eventually,
they would find it. Hopefully.

I woke up groggily in a dark room. I was in my human state, which meant our
powers were taken away. Feeling the collar around my neck, I realized I was
right. My arms were tied up and my legs were the same, which left me in the
room, alone, and scared. Where the others like this? Were they all alone,
too? Were they still alive?
A beam of light peeked from out under the door, and more light followed.
The door opened, and I gasped. "Who is it? Who’s there?" The room was
flooded with light. "Who are you?"
"I believe you know who I am," the man ominously replied. "I am Graydon
Creed."
"Graydon Creed? But you’re dead!" I protested.
"Child, I think you know that appearances can be deceiving. Besides, what
else would boost my cause but my own death? And what else would help me more
than being able to work from behind the scenes?" he relayed.
"What do you want with Excalibur?" I shouted.
"The same thing, dear, that I want with everyone else who is a mutant.
 Obliteration," he elucidated.
I gasped. "You will nae do such a thing!"
"Ah, kitten," he threatened. "I have already begun."
What did he mean by that?
***
"Can you get anything from the warehouse?" Brian queried.
"Yes, I can," I answered. "An enormous amount of electricity is being used
up in that building." They must have lots of technology in there.
 "Technology?" Brian checked.
"Yes, like radars and the like," I elaborated. "I think I can shut it all
down, though." Concentrating, I spoke to the electricity, using my powers to
make it all shut down, and with a large, electromagnetic wave, all the
technology in the warehouse was shut down.
"Wouldn’t that hurt Douglock, too, though?!" Brian worried.
"No," I said. "His technology is of a different kind, and is even partially
made up of magic. He won’t be affected by it at all, if he’s in there."
Brian, relieved, headed towards the warehouse. "Well, let’s go in! Our
friends need saving!"
With a whip of air and a strong punch, we did just that.
***
"What are you doing, Pete? How can you find anything here?" Amanda
wondered.
"Training, Amanda, and years at Black Air and the like have taught me many
things," I illustrated.
 "Ah," she sighed.
"We’re nearing the holding pens. This is the smartest part of the building
to place the prisoners, and I’m going to see if anyone else we know is here,"
I elucidated.
"I can scan the area," Amanda offered, lifting up her hands and putting them
together. "You were right! Kurt is in this door, right here, and Peter is
over in that room. Rahne and Douglock are in the other two rooms!" Running
to Kurt’s door, Amanda took off, while I entered the room farthest to the
left, where either Rahne or Douglock was. Entering the dark room, I heard a
noise in the corner.
  "Hello?" I heard Douglock greet.
"Douglock," I hailed. "I’m here to get you free." Walking over to him, I
saw he was tied up and had an inhibitor collar. With a slip of a hot knife
here and there, Douglock was soon free. We entered the hall, and I pointed
him to free Peter, while I checked on Rahne’s room.
"Rahne?" Letting more light into the room I scanned it with my eyes.
 "Rahne, are you in here?"
"Pete! I’m so glad yuir here!" Rahne enthused. "Can you get me out of
here?" Walking over to her, I did just that with my hot knives. After having
shifted into her transitional form, she sighed and relaxed. Walking out into
the hallway, we met the others. "We have to get out of here!" Rahne
complained.
"No, we have to get them back, first. Make sure they’ll never be able to do
something like this again!" I complained.
"I agree," Kurt responded. "Colossus, Wolfsbane, and Daytripper, I want you
to do as much damage in here that you can. Wisdom, Douglock, and I will go
to stop whoever’s responsible."
"It’s Graydon Creed," Rahne answered. "He’s the one responsible. He
taunted me and called me kitten." Amanda glanced at me, unhappily.
 "He what?!" I shouted.
"Pete, calm down!" Kurt whispered. "What is the matter?"
"Kitty…." I voiced. "Kitty got hurt, bad."
"No, Amanda, Kitty was raped. Brutally raped and beaten by that man. And
I’m going to kill him as soon as I find him," I promised.
The others glanced at each other, their moods greatly dropped and hopes
drifted. Instead of just being another bad guy to fight, it had suddenly
become really personal.
And I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
The small light that was on the ceiling suddenly flickered and turned off.
It sounded a lot like whatever else was in the building had done the same.

"Looks like other help has arrived," Peter observed.
"I’ll go outside and take a peak," Kurt offered, bamfing away.
***
"Meggan! Brian!" I shouted once I had bamfed outside. I teleported to
where they had just entered and shouted their name. "MEGGAN! BRIAN! Wait
UP!" They heard me calling and turned around. Grabbing their hands and
nodding, I took them back with me.
The group stared at Meggan and Brian in suprise. "Brian!" Rahne greeted.
"Meggan! What are you doing here?"
"We’re here to help," Meggan explained.
"Query, did you do turn all the lights off?" Douglock grinned.
"Yes, we did," Brian replied. "So what’s the plan?"
"Well, Brian, things have changed now that you guys are here," I pondered,
concentrating. What to do? "Brian, Meggan, Wolfsbane, and Wisdom, you all
go together and find Creed. And make him pay. The others are going to come
with me and we’re going to see what else we can do with this place. Let’s
go, guys! The plane is outside, Rahne knows where it is, so when your group
is done, guys, go back to the plane. We’ll meet up there." Our groups
seperated, sternly concentrating on the task ahead.
***
Looking over Kitty and the mass of technology that surounded her and
currently kept her alive, I studied the results. She was going to be okay.
Her body would suffer and fight off some massive bruises after a couple of
weeks, she has a broken nose and a couple broken ribs, and some scarring in
certain areas.
The only part that bothers me was concerning her future. I didn’t want to
have to tell her this, but I had to or one day she might die.
Kitty will never be able to have children. Ever. Or else she may very well
die.
