Gallery Glass Creations
- Part 1 -

My Christmas present for 1997 was a "Gallery Glass" Kit by Plaid. I just love it. I have a lot of fun working with it. Once I got the hang of making the liquid lead lines straight, it was really easy.

One of the first creations was the tulip. This is project that is created with liquid lead on clear plastic (not plastic wrap, it won't come off it).

I outlined the design and let it dry over night and then the next day I colored it and let it dry again. Once it was dry, again over night, I could peel off the design and attach it to the window. It just clings on its own.

When I have enough of it, I can just peel it off again and store it or place it some place else.

Now my next project was experimenting with bottles. I have collected a variety of glass bottles from the kitchen.

First I had to make straight liquid lead lines on a piece of clear plastic. The best way to do that was putting a sheet of loose leaf paper underneath the plastic and then I just followed the lines.

Once the lines were dry I could peel them off and place them on the botte in any design I chose. Then I used some more liquid lead to seal the joints of the lines. Let that dry a little and then colored it.

The result: a beautiful leaded glass bottle.

This bottle is a combination of painting my design on clear plastic and painting directly onto the bottle.

I traced geese on the clear plastic and colored them. Once they were dry, I didn't know what to do with them until I saw the bottle and got the idea.

I placed the geese on the bottle and then added the lead lines and colored it all in.
