After creating a glass jar roombox for my son I decided to make one for my daughter. She likes to travel and has very fond memories of her time in Nice, France when she was ther to take a French course. So I asked her for a picture of herself standing up. And I went looking on the Internet for old French posters. This roombox was very easy to put together and even though it is simple it is quite effective. I made the wallpaper on the outside and on the inside different on purpose. I placed the posters on top of the wallpaper in my graphics program and printed it all out together. I did the same with the picture of my daughter and used the fact that she was standing in front of a column to my advantage. I shrank the photo and printed it out. Then I sprayed it with matt finish and glued it onto cardboard. Next I cut it out and glued it to the front of an old marker lid. I raised the whole scene about 1-inch by placing it on piece from a cardboard cylinder. I used a frozen juice lid as the floor and spread a heavy coat of glue onto it and sprinkled sand on top. This way it looks like she's at the beach. |
