Micro Pouty Doll

Marlies' Creative Universe

It is now January 2002 and the new year has drawn me further towards miniatures. In December I was busy using polymerclay and with it creating small things came very naturally. After seeing all kinds of miniature teddy bears on the Net, I got the idea of making my mini pouty dolls even smaller.

First I had to figure out what kind of material to use. It had to be something that did not fray as the seam allowances had to be very small (3/16"). I ended up using very thin microfibre.

Next I printed out my pattern reduced to 25% of the original size and cut out the pieces and transfered them to the fabric, and cut them out with 3/16" seam allowance.

I hand sewed the outfit/doll and then stuffed it very lightly with synthetic stuffing. For the head I used a bead.

The whole doll is just about 2 inches tall and absolutely adorable.
