What do you do when your video tapes are worn out? I don't
like to throw things out and just had to come up with some
use for them. My first use was the Video
Tape Owl and now this:
Assemble Box
Take 5 video tapes and rewinds them or forward them so
that there is about an equal amount of tape on each spool.
Cover each video tape with either a coating of paper
maché or use paper masking tape.
Place the heavier tapes on the bottom and the wide sides.
Fasten together with double sided carpet tape and then
cover with another layer of masking tape.
Decorate Box
Paint with black acrylic craft paint.
Draw design on black paint with a white pencil crayon.
Outline design with glue with a glue gun.
Paint with another coat of black paint.
Sponge paint with silver and then fill in the inside of
the design with paint in whatever color you like.
Glue on feet (I used the smaller part of the inside from
Kinder Surprise chocolates).
