To Breathe Again

Prologue
Just Breathe

I fought the urge to open my mouth, and to take in a big, gulp of fresh air, but I knew that I could not. For there was no air to breathe. Only water. Cold, hard, water. I am going to die. I will never see a person's smiling face again, or feel the sunshine beat down on my face. I will never eat a chocolate bar again. Ever. Or go to the mall, and be a normal person. I'll never see, him again. All this is about to be taken away from me. How you ask? Because I'm drowning. It's partly my fault. I never learned how to swim. I just, have a fear of the water. Well, it figures. I have a terrible fear of water, and I end up drowning. Huh. How ironic. Well, things are starting to black out now, I can see Marie swimming towards me, but by the time she gets here, I'll already be dead. Ohhhh, my lungs ache. Why does it have to hurt so much? Why can't I just go peacefully? Because I led a spiteful, and terrible life, that's why. I opened my mouth, and took a big gulp of water. I suddenly felt very light, as if I were floating and then....

Chapter 1
Tulsa, Oklahoma.
2 years later.

"Taylor! C'mon! We're going to be late!" I called up to my brother. I heard someone running through the upstairs hallway, and I saw him jet down the stairs.
"Sor-ry!" He said, and rolled his eyes. We grabbed our shoes, and ran outside to where our older brotherm Isaac was waiting.
"Took you two long enough! Serena told us to be at the soccer field by 1:00, and it's almost 1:30! Can't you two ever be one time?" He asked. Taylor shot him a glance.
"Well I'm not the one that's so eager to get there!" He shot back. Ike shook his head.
"Man, when will you get it out of your tiny head that I don't have any feelings for Jeanie? She's just my friend, that's all. Like Zac and Serena." He said. I let out a very loud sigh.
"C'mon! We're late enough as it is!" I said. Ike floored it, and his black convertable Saab raced down the street. We finally made it to the soccer field. The game had already started. Serene waved at us as we got out of the car.
"Took you long enough! We've been waiting forever!" She said. Matty Williams sneered.
"Probably off doing another photo shoot." He said. I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Yeah? Well at least people want to see pictures of us!" Tay shot back. Matty rolled his eyes.
"Only those pre-teen teenyboppers!" He said, and laughed. Tay took a step forward. Serena stepped infront of him.
"Don't be a jerk. Let's play!" She said. He nodded. We joined sides, and started to game. I managed to get a hold of the ball, but Tay got it off of me. I can't help it, he's a better soccer player then me. He passed it to Jeanie, who passed it to Serena, who took a shot on Ike. The ball sailed into the net. Serena's team cheered.
 "Lucky shot!" I complained.
"Yeah, you wish Zac!" She said. We played for another hour, but by then everyone was tired. Jeanie and Serena had packed some gatorade and chips, so we all sat down by the goalpoast and pigged out. I noticed a girl sitting on the swing, watching us.
"Huumay." I said, between a mouthful of chips. "Whmmuo dhuoo yuhoo summpoose thamt ish?" I asked. Jeanie thought what I said was hilarious, and she started to laugh. Whenever she laughs, she gets hiccups. I swallowed.
"Who do you suppose that is?" I repeated. Serena shrugged.
"I dunno. But she was watching us the whole time." She said. Taylor looked over at her.
"Do you think she's a fan?" He asked. I shrugged.
"Of what? You're awful soccer playing?" Serena cracked. Taylor shot her a glare.
"No. My awesome music making!" He said. Serena didn't know what to say to that. She knew that Tay was sensitive about our music.  We all looked over at her.
"Wnat to see if she want's to play?" Brandt Keyy, one of Jeanie's friends asked. I shrugged.
"I don't think she knows how." I said. Serena looked at me quizzically.
"What makes you say that?" She asked. I shrugged.
"Well, if she knew how to play, she would have all ready asked if she could!" I said. She sighed, and stood up.
"I'm gonna ask her if she want's to play. Now be nice to her." She said. We all gave our best angel faces.
"Since when have we ever been bad?" Isaac asked. She rolled her eyes, and headed in the girls's direction. We could see them talking, then the girl stood up, and came back to where we were sitting with Serena.
"Guys, this is Marika. Marika, this is, Taylor, Zac, and Isaac Hanson, Jeanie Hall, Brandt Keyy, Matty Williams, and Jacelyn Morris. Guys, this is Marika Stojko." She introduced us. We all waved, or said hi. I gave a little salute. She smiled.
"You guys are Hanson, right?" She asked. Tay, Ike and I nodded. She smiled.
"Oh, cool." She said. She had red hair, and green eyes. She was pretty short, and very slim. She looked as if she would break any minute. I doubted she knew how to play soccer.
"Well, should we start playing again?" Serena asked. A bunch of affirmative grunts came up from us. We stood up.
"Let the games begin." I said. We raced to our postitions.

Chapter 2
Taylor's seeing things.

We had been playing for about twenty minutes. That girl, Marika was okay. Not very good, but she knew gow to kick and pass. I saw an opening for a great shot on Matty in net. I got ready, and kicked that ball at him. I mean really kicked the ball at him. One of the hardest shots I've ever made. Marika wasn't looking. I saw it was going to hit her.
"Marika! Heads up!" I yelled. She turned around, and the ball hit her. Between her shoulder and her neck. She bent down. I ran over towards her.
"Oh, jeez. Man, I'm sorry. I didn't see you there. I thought I had a open shot. Are you okay?" I asked. She nodded, and rubbed her shoulder. I stepped back. Serena came up beside her.
"Nice going, Tay." She said to me. I could feel my face go red.
"It was a accident, I never meant-"
"It's okay. I'm fine. But I'd better go. I'll see you guys later. Thanks for letting me play with you." she said, and left. I jst stood, staring, and unblinking. I couldn't have just seen that.
"Great, Tay. You had to go and bust her up. She was cute too." Zac said. I didn't answer. I just kept on staring as she walked off. No. I couldn't have ssen that. No way. I shook my head. By I couldn't get the vision of what I saw when she rubbed her shoulder out of my mind.
There was a dark, almost bruiselike spot there, but unlike any bruise I had ever seen. It was all purple, like it had been without blood or oxygen for a long time. Almost as if, she was dead. Dead, like a corpse.

Chapter 3
The Next Day
Who is Marika Stojko?

"What on earth are you talking about Taylor?" Serena asked me. She got that tone of voice that I knew I couldn't argue with.
"I saw something really weird on her shoulder, like she was dead or something. Ya know, like, her skin was rotting away." I said. She narrowed her eyes at me.
"How can you be so thoughtless? What if it's a rash, what if she's sick, what if she was born with it? She probably saw how you looked at her and that's why she left!" She told me. Zac, Serena, Ike, Jeanie and me were all at Pizza Palace for lunch. We were going to head over to the soccer field when we were done. We would meet Brandt, Matty, and Jacelyn there. I sipped on my Dr. Pepper.
"I think it's weird." I said. Ike shot me a dirty look.
"So? She has a nasty birthmark. Big deal. Hey, Tay, she was pretty hot. You know, she looks about your age..." He said. I could feel my face get red. It always did whenever he teased me about girls.
"No thank you. She seems, weird. I dunno. She's not really my type." I said. Zac smiled.
"Then I'll go for her! She's my type!" He piped up. I rolled my eyes. Everyone else groaned. Zac, like Ike, was beginning to get girls on the brain. It was pretty scary. I like girls too, sure, but I'm not obsessive over every one who walks by.
"Whatever Zac." I said. We paid for our pizzas, and left. Brandt and Jacelyn were all ready there, and passing the ball around.
"Where's Matty?" Serena asked. Zac had told me that Serena had a slight crush on Matty. I wasn't surprised. All most all the girls did. But she had an advantage, she was his friend.I didn't think that highly of him, not a lot of guys did. But, he was Brandt's friend.
"I dunno. I called him, but no one answered. I think he's coming." Brandt said. Serena shrugged. I heard Zac whisper something to her, and laugh. She punched him on the arm.
"Well, let's get started"! She said. We used her ball. She had a pro Nike Soccer Ball. It was the best you could get. She treasured it. Along with her baseball glove, bat, and favourite ball, football, and tennis racquet. Zac once tossed me the football in her house, and she freaked. I think it's because her dad gave them to her, and he died last year. She was very close to him. He was a sports maniac too. I've never seen her cry, not even when she broke her arm, and I cried when I broke my arm, but I saw her shed three tears at her dad's funeral. Zac said that she cried after, when he was there. But other then that, I've never heard of her crying. She's strong. Very strong.  Physically, and mentally. She passed me the ball. I passed to Jacelyn, and Jacelyn took a shot. It sailed in past Zac. She let out a loud whoop. She had several different victory whoops.
"Nice shot Jacey!" Jeanie said. Jacelyn slapped her a high five. I liked Jacelyn. Even though she was usually very quiet, when ever she did something great, she'd let the whole world know about it. I saw Marika walk towards us from the field entrance. Serena waved to her.
"Hey Marika! Want to play?" She yelled. Marika waved, and jogged over.
"You're on Tay's team." Serena said, and shot me a glance. Thanks, Serena. We started to play again. Marika played a little bit better today. We stopped for a quick break.
"So, Marika, did you just move to Tulsa?" Serena asked. Marika didn't answer at first.
"You could say that. I've actually lived in Jenks all my life, but it was on the border line of Tulsa and Jenks. I actually moved into Tulsa four days ago." She said.
"Tay was born in Jenks too, weren't you Tay?" Zac asked, giving me a sickly sweet smile.
"Yeah." I answered, and glared at him.
"Didn't you go to summer camp there too? I mean, the three of you, about two years ago?" Jeanie asked. Ike nodded.
"Yeah, near this lake. Actually, one girl died. She drowned the week we were there. I don't remember her though, since I was in a higher level. Do you Tay?" He asked me. I searched through my brain. Yeah, something about a girl in my group or something...
"I think so. I think her name was, Monica? I don't know. I think I took archery with her." I said. Markia nodded.
"Yes. I went to that summer camp that same week." She said. I raised my eyebrows.
"Really? Who's group were you in?" I asked.
"Three. With, uh, Marie. I think." She said. I nodded. Yeah, Marie was the girl's coach that all the guys had a crush on including...
"Ike! Man, did you ever have the biggest crush on her!" I said, and laughed. Zac smiled.
"Yeah! You went into the biggest depression after we left. Hah!" He said. Ike rolled his eyes. Then turned to Marika.
"Was she nice?" He asked. Marika got a dark look in her eyes.
"I suppose so. She made a lot of...mistakes. The girl that died, Monica, she was in my group, and it was Marie that was on water duty. I rememeber her swimming towards Monica, but it was too late. Monica had told everyone that she knew how to swim, when she didn't." She said. I saw her look very upset. Jacelyn noticed it too.
"Were you her friend?" She asked softly. Marika shrugged.
"I think, I was her only friend. Marie didn't like her all that much either. No one really paid any attention to her." She said, and smiled, softly. "But, that's all in the past, and Monica is gone. Let's play some soccer!" She said, and got up. A bunch of us got up too. But I remained seated.
"Tay? Are you gonna play?" Serena asked me. I shrugged.
"In a sec. You guys start." I said. She nodded, and they started. I couldn't get the memory out of my head. Monica, I remembered her. Of course. This girl had been teasing her about not being able to shoot an arrow properly. She had got upset, and, and, jabbed the arrow in the girls arm! Monica denied it of course. But I didn'y say anything. She was so pretty, in fact, she looked a lot, if not exactly like, Marika.

Chapter 4
Later that Day at the Hanson's.
Marika=Monica?

Taylor was trying to explain his insane theory about Marika being Monica, and that she had somehow risen up from the dead.
"Taylor, maybe Marika was Monica's twin!" Zac suggested. I nodded.
"Yeah. That's always a possibility." I said. He shook his head.
"No, Ike. I'm telling you, I remember Monica. She was, crazy. I thought she was cute, but she looks exactly like Marika! Red hair, green eyes. It's hard not to remember something like that." He said. I sighed.
"Taylor, I think you need to think about this. There's no possible way that Marika could be Monica. Monica is dead. D-E-A-D. As in, she's not coming back." I said. He looked at the ground, and then almost as if a lightbulb went on ontop of his head, he jerked his head up.
"I know! We'll call the camp, and see if there is any record of a Marika Stojko!" He said. I tugged at my hair.
"Taylor, you're taking this way too far. No way." I said, but he was already upstairs. He ran back down with mom's phone and address book in his hand. He searched through it, until he found the camp's phone number.
"Hello? Yes, I was wondering if you had any record of a Marika Stojko in you lists. Yes. She went to Camp Sweeny two years ago..." He closed his eyes, as if trying to remember. "...On week....seven! She was in group, uh..." He snapped his fingers at us.
 "Three. With Maria." Zac said.
"Three, and the counselor's name was Maria." He said. His eyes grew wide. "Uh huh. Thank you very much. Good bye." He hung up.
"Well?" I asked. He blinked a few times.
"They said that they had no record of a Marika Stojko. And that the only Stojko that they had listed, was in group three, and her name was Monica Stojko!" He said. I blinked a few times myself. Monica? But, how?
"I've got to call Serena!" He said, and grabbed the phone. I grabbed his hand.
"Taylor, maybe you heard incorrectly. And maybe Marika was making the whole thing up. It says that she was never listed at that week, or in the camp at all." I said.
"Then how would she know about Marie? And which group Monica was in?" He asked. I shrugged.
"There are a thousand possibilities. She could have heard about it from a friend, maybe she's related to Marie, who knows! But the point is that Marika is not Monica." I said.
"What about their names?" He asked. I thought about this.
"Like I said, maybe, she's an obsessed fan or something, and she heard about Monica, and used her name to screw around with your head! Taylor, you are being highly irrational." I said. Zac snorted.
"Highly irrational!" He repeated. I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Well, Einstien, what do you think?" I asked him. He shrugged.
"I think you should let Tay do whatever he wants. It's his life to mess up." He said. I sighed, and let go of Tay's arm. He picked up the phone, and punched in Serena's number.
"Hello? Serena, this is Tay. What's wrong? You sound upset. What? Are you serious? Of course we'll drive you. We'll be right over. He slammed the phone down.
"What happened?" Zac asked. Taylor looked haunted.
"She said that Matty was, uh, he fell into the river, and he's in critical condition at the hospital. Her mother's out shopping, and she want's to go see him. She asked if we could drive her. I said sure." He said. I nodded, and grabbed my car keys.
"Let's go." I said. We left the house.

Chapter 5
At the hospital.
She did what?

The doctor wouldn's let us see Matty, and that made Serena terribly upset. She really had strong feelings for him. I didn't know why, he was a bit of a jerk. Finally, the doctor came out to where we were waiting.
"His parents said that you can see him now." He said. We passed Matty's parents in the hall. Brandt was standing near them. Matty's mother, Mrs. Williamson was crying.
"Hey guys." Brandt said. He looked really tired. "Ready to go see Matty?" He asked. We nodded. Serena went in first, and we followed. His eyes were closed, and he looked really blue and cold. Serena squeezed his hand.
"He's freezing." She said. I recognized the shade of purply blue he was, it was almost like the spot on Marika's shoulder. There was a beeping coming from a machine, that I guessed was showing his vital signs. We stood around him.
"Matty, this really sucks. How could you have fallen into a river? You knew how to climb on slippery rocks." Serena said. She wasn't sad, just angry.I touched her arm slightly. She flinched.
"Matty." She said. His eyes suddenly flashed open.
"Matty!" Brandt gasped. Matty looked around the room.
"Ike! Go get a doctor!" Serena told him. He nodded, and left. Matty started to cough.
"I...she..." He gasped. Serena was trying to calm him down.
"Don't try to talk. It's okay, you'll be all right." She said. Ge coughed a lot, and water started to pour out of his mouth.
"Oh my....Where's the freaking doctor?!" She screamed.
"She...Pushed....Be careful....." He was trying to say through gurgles.
"What? You were pushed? By whom?" Brandt asked. Serena was still screaming for a doctor.
"Her....Marika....But.....She was....She said.....Monica...." He said, and closed his eyes. The doctor rushed in, with his parents.
"Clear away! Go wait outside!" He ordered. We were ushered outside. Serena was screaming. She was furious.
"Marika? Monica? What the hell is going on here?" She yelled. I tried to calm her down.
"I knew it! I knew it!" Taylor was saying. "She tried to kill him! By drowning! Like she died!" He said. Ike hit him across the face.
"Taylor, get a hold of yourself! This isn't some little ghost story! Matty is dying!" He said. Taylor just looked at him, stunned.
"But, she, he said, she pushed him. Why?" Taylor asked quietly. Serena was still screaming. Brandt was pacing back and forth. It was starting to make me very nervous. We had started to attract a crowd of people. A few nurses came up to us.
"Please, I'm going to have to ask you to be more quiet. You are disturbing the other patients and their families." She said.
"Marika killed him! She murdered him!" Serena screamed at the nurse.
"Please, calm down." The nurse was saying. The door to Matty's hospital room opened, and his mother and father came out. They were both crying. The doctor came out behind them. I could see the two nurses covering his body with a white sheet.
"I'm sorry, he's passed away." The doctor said. Serena started to scream again.
"No! Why would she do this? Why?" She was screaming. We went down the hall. Taylor was shaking his head. We left the hospital, and piled into Ike's Saab. We all just sat there for a moment, thinking.
"I'm gonna kill her!" Serena threatened.
"What? Again? She's all ready dead." Taylor said. She punched him. hard on his arm.
"Shut up! She's crazy! I hate her! She is going to DIE!" Serena said. She still hadn't cried.
 "But, Serena..." I started.
"Shut up! Ike, drive. To the soccer field. She is always there." She said. Ike didn't argue.
He headed for the soccer field.

Chapter 6
At The Soccer Field.
All for You.

Brandt wanted to go home, so we had dropped him off. Serena was furious.
"Where are you? Show yourself! You stupid cowardly bitch!" Serena was screaming. There was no one around. Zac touched her arm lightly.
"Serena, she isn't here. C'mon, let's go back to our house, or something." He suggested.
She closed her eyes, and nodded.
"Yes. You're right. I'll kill her tomorrow." She said. We started to leave. I took one last look around, and saw a quick flash of bright red hair. There was a high pitched giggle.
"Marika?" I asked. There was another giggle. Zac, Ike and Serena turned back around.
"Did you hear that?" Serena asked. I nodded, and put my finger to my lips, motioning for them to be quiet.
"Marika? Where are you? Show yourself Marika." I said. There was a giggle.
"I'm not Marika, Taylor." She said. I paused for a moment.
"Monica?" I asked. She giggled even more, and a figure appeared. I gasped. I could hear the others behind me show their surprise.
"Hello. Want to play some soccer?" She asked. I shook my head, no.
"Monica, were you pretending to be Marika?" I asked. She nodded.
"I always liked Marika better then Monica." She said. I saw her as she must've been two years ago, at thirteen. That's why she was so short and tiny. Her figure hadn't changed.
"Did you kill Matty?" Serena hissed. Monica narrowed her eyes at her.
"Yeah. I did. Wasn't it great Taylor?" She asked me.
 "What?" I asked. She smiled.
"That's what you wanted. I did it for you, Taylor." She said. Serena turned to me.
"You wanted him dead?" She asked. I shook my head.
"No! Of course not!" I said. Monica giggles. I looked back at her.
"But, I saw you fighting with him, the way you were so aggressive whenever you played soccer against him. You meant to kick that hard ball at Matty, but it hit me instead." She said.
"Marika, I didn't hit the ball hard because Matty was in net! I hit it hard because I wanted it to go in!" I told her.
"My name's Monica. But you never liked Matty." She said.
"He wasn't my favourite person, but he was still my friend. We got along okay. I never wanted him to die, though." I said. She shrugged.
"Oh, well. Too late now. I always get rid of people I don't like. That's why I killed him Taylor. I did it for you." She said. I gulped.
"It's like, when you stabbed that arrow in that girl's arm. You didn't like her, either." I said. She smiled, and nodded.
"I knew you remembered me! I could tell it from the moment I met you! And you didn't tell on me then because you liked me! I came back for you, Taylor." She said. I blinked several times.
"What? Why? I was never your friend." I said. She rolled her eyes.
"But I was in love with you, and stupid Marie took that away from me. She was only 16, you know. And I had overheard her talking to another councellor about you. She said that if you were just a yeat older, she'd be with you in a flash." She said. I felt my face go red. She giggled.
"You blush so easily!" She said. "I took care of her as soon as I came back. I never liked the after life all that much. I liked being alive, even though when I was alive, no one gave a damn about me." She said bitterly.
"But, you, how did you come back?" I asked. She smiled.
"Oh, that's not important. I was watching from up there, and I saw you, and I saw how perfect you had become, and I knew I had to come back. I sort of, snuck out, and went back into my old body. I had a lot of repairs to do to it, and you saw my shoulder, Taylor." She said. I nodded. She smiled, and lifted up her shirt so I could see her stomach. I grimaced. It was all flesh eaten and gray. It was disgusting. She giggled. "Pretty nasty after two years, isn't it? But I've done work on it. You should have see it before! Eww, gross. I was missing both my eyes. But I saw that Marie had green eyes like me, so I took hers!" She said, and laughed cruelly. Then her eyes narrowed at me. "But enough chit chatting. It's time I got what I came for. Taylor, you're coming back with me!" She said, and laughed.

Chapter 7
I'll never Love you!

"What? No way! I'm not dead yet!" I shrieked. She smiled, softly.
"I can fix that." She said.
"You can't kill my brother!" Zac yelled. She glared at him.
"Shut up. I find you very annoying." She said. He shut up.
"I'm not going with you." I said.
"You don't really have any choice. I want to be with you for all eternity, and so I shall have you." She said. "I've been waiting for two years to see you again! All because I love you." She said. I narrowed my eyes.
"I'll never love you." I said. She looked at me, horrified.
"But, no! You liked me at camp!" She protested.
"I thought you were pretty. But that's all. You're a truely evil and horrible thing." I said.
"But, no! The only way I can stay is if you love me!" She said.
"I don't love you. You are evil, and I hope you burn in Hell!" I said. She was angry, and very hurt at the same time.
"No! You're coming back with me! I love you, and you will love me! Forever! Taylor, we will be together for all eternity!" She said, and came towards me.
"No way! When it is my time to die, I do not want to die with you. I hate you!" I screamed, and turned to Ike, Zac, and Serena. "To the river!" I yelled. We all ran to Ike's car.
I could heat Monica laughing behind us.
"You can't run away Taylor! I will be everywhere you go!" She said. Her voice echoed in my ears. We raced towards the river.
"This is too freaky!" Serena said.
"I'm sorry I didn't believe you Tay! I'll never argue with you again." He said.
"Yeah, well, rememeber you said that!" I said. We got to the river. I stood right by the rapids. This must've been where Matty drowned. I heard the familliar giggle.
"You can't run away Taylor!" She said, and appeared right infront of me. I gasped, and stepped backwards, my foot slipped on the wet rocks. She giggled.
"Just a little futher...." She said, and pushed me. I fell, it seemed like forever, but then I felt the cold water surround me. I saw a dark object comw towards me. It was Monica. She was smiling. She grabbed onto my arms, holding me down. I struggled to get up, but she was too strong. I heard a distant splash, and saw Serena swimming towards us at a incredible speed. Monica didn't see her, and Serena grabbed her shoulders, and spun her around. Serena punched her right in the face, and twisted her head around. I swam towards the surface. My head broke through, and I took a big gulp of air, oh, to breathe again! I saw Ike and Zac standing at the edge of the river. I fought the current, ans swam towards them.
"Is Serena okay? She went in after you!" Zac said. I shook my head.
"I don't know. She got Monica off of me, and she punched her, but I don't know." I said, and took big gulps of air. The water started to churn, and boil.
"Omigod, Serena!" Zac screamed, he went towards the water. Ike held him back.
"Zac, that water is boiling! You'll fry." He said.
"But Serena! " He said. We all watched the water. It turned red. Blood red. I heard Zac whimper.
"Oh, God..." Ike breathed. The water suddenly started to calm down, and it went back to it's original colour. Zac went out to the edge of the river bank.
"Serena!" He called. "SERENA!" There was no answer. I closed my eyes. No, no, not Serena too. It's all my fault. I heard a splshing further down the river, and we all ran over there. I was soaking wet, and my jeans weighed me down. I saw a figure, laying facedown on the ground. It was Serena.
"Serena! Oh, thank God!" Zac said, and raced beside her. He touched her back, and jerked his hand away.
 "She's burning hot!" He said.
"Roll her over. I know CPR." Ike said. We rolled her over. Her face was very red, as if suntanned. Ike started CPR on her. A few seconds later, she started to cough up water, and her eyes opened. She bolted upright.
"Shhh, it's okay." Zac was trying, yet again, to calm her down. She coughed again, and shook her head.
"Whoa, what a rush." She said. I smiled, she was okay

Chapter 8
At the Hospital.
A Happy Ending.

Everyone had come to visit Serena at the hospital. We told the doctors that we were all upset, and that we wanted to go to the place where Matty had fallen in. We
said that I fell in, and that Serena went in after me, but that she got swept away downstrem by the current. The doctors said that she's okay, and that we could visit
her. Ike, Zac and I went in first.
"Hey, Serena how ya feeling?" Zac asked. She smiled.
"I've been better." She said. I smiled.
"Thanks, ya know, for saving my life and all." I said. She shrugged.
"I wanted to get rid of her, after she killed Matty. I was just really pissed that she wanted to kill you too. And that she thought nothing of human life." She said. I
nodded.
"What happened?" Ike asked. Her brow furrowed.
"We were fighting underwater. I was much stronger then her of course, but she didn't need to breathe. I was loosing oxygen. But she started to, I don't know how
to describe it, melt away? It seemed like the water tore her apart. She was screaming, and peices of her floated to the bottom of the river. She let go of me, and I swam up to the top. But I was so tired, and I had no more air left. The next thing I remember, was Ike kissing me." She said. Ike blushed.
"I was giving you CPR." He said. She nodded, and smiled.
"Thanks, you probably saved my life." She said. He shrugged.
"Well, you saved my brother's." Jeanie, Brandt, and Jacelyn came in then, and we all started talking about how we missed Matty. Brandt asked about Monica. We
said that she had said that she'd seen him right before he'd fallen in, and that he'd been taking a walk along the river's edge, but that she hadn't pushed him in. She had also said that she would be moving to Tennessee tomorrow, and that we probably wouldn't see her again. They all believed it.
Life was pretty much normal after that, all though, whenever I heard a fan shout, 'I love you Taylor!', I still think about Monica. I know one thing for sure, I'll never
be going to camp again. Ever.

The End.
