He woke up, feeling the bright sunshine on his face. He normally
loved sunny days, now, he hated them. He looked around the room, and saw
his two siblings sleeping peacefully. Lucky them, they don't have horrible
dreams like I do, he thought. He got up, and headed to the washroom.
A pale reflection looked back at him. His normally rosy cheeks
were dull, and almost colourless. His eyes practically void of all colour.
He sneered at his own reflection. They all expected him to be perfect,
like the rest of his family. But deep down, he knew he wasn't. He knew
he had faults. Like last night.
Last night was the party to end all parties. He'd gone, despite
his mother's warnings. They'd wanted to come along too, "But we always
do things together!" They'd whined. Well, this time, it wasn't going to
be the three of them. It was going to be him, and only him. He sighed.
Why must they be so persistant? You'd think togetherness would've passed
down to him, the way it had to everyone else. What with the band, and all.
He tried not to think about the band. The band, had ruined his
childhood. Well, what he could remember about it. The screams, the constant
screams. It wasn't fair. He left the washroom, and headed down the hallway.
He saw one of his sisters sitting on the sofa.
"Hey, buddy. What's up? You don't look very happy this morning."
She chirped. He grunted. If there was one thing he hated more in the world
then actually getting up, it was seeing people who were all ready up and
awake. She wrinkled her nose.
"Fine. Be that way. " She said, and went back to the book she
was reading. He trudged into the kitchen. His mother was making pancakes.
"Hello, honey, how did you sleep?" She asked. He shrugged.
"Not too well. Theywere snoring and talking in their sleep."
He said. He almost managed to make 'they' sound like a swear word. Mrs.
Hanson's brow furrowed. She didn't want him to get angry again, things
always got worse when he got angry. He had a lot on his mind. "When
am I gonna get my own room?" He whined.
"Well, when we move, or someone else moves out." Mrs. Hanson
said slowly. That wasn't a good enough answer. He opened his mouth to complain,
but his brother, Zachary bounced in.
"Hey hey!" Zac cheered.
"Hello, Zac honey." Mrs. Hanson said, pretending to forget the
incident that had just occured. He realized that his family was scared
of him. He could kill them all if he wanted to. He smiled, seeing their
faces twist into expressions of horror, as they realized that their beloved
son and brother was about to end their lives. He thought, tonight. Tonight
is the night. No more Hanson, no more band Hanson, no more being
shut out of the spotlight. Just him, his family, and a big can of gasoline.
Maybe a lighter or two.
He smiled.
"Hey, Zac? Did you notice anything weird about Mackie today?"
Taylor asked his brother as they were drifting off to sleep. "He seemed
sort of, I don't know, occupied."
"Maybe that wild party he went to last night spazzed him out."
Zac suggested. "Avery and Zoe were pretty pissed about not being able to
go."
"Yeah. Is Ike asleep?" Taylor asked. Zac grunted.
"I think so. Ike? Are you asleep?" He asked the darkness.
"Mmmph. Yes. Leave me alone." Was Isaac's muffled reply.
"He's asleep." Zac confirmed.
"Okay, goodnight guys." Taylor said.
"'Night."
"Uggh."
Little did they know, that was the last time they'd ever see
each other alive again.
This is it. I'm gonna kil them all. Goodbye mom, goodbye dad.
Goodbye Ikey, Tay, and Zac. I'll be with you in your dreams....Goodbye
Jessie, Avie and Zoe. Have fun up there, I'll see you soon. Mackenzie lit
the match. The gasoline was all set up, they wouldn't realize what was
happening until it was too late. This is for ruining my childhood, guy!
Mackie thought. Thanks for becoming famous stars, and stealing the spotlight,
guys. I really appreciate it. It's a shame mo and dad and Jessie, Avie
and Zoe have to die too, oh well. No big loss. Mackie dropped that
match. The gasoline ignited, and spread throughout the garage. Mackie turned
to leave. The sun was just coming up. "In a MMMbop they're gone, in a MMMbop
they're not there..." He muttered to himself. He saw the sunshine coming
u pover the horizon, and for once, he was happy that the sun was rising.
He left the Hanson's garage, whistling a familiar tune to himself.
"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine,
you make me happy, when skies are gray,
you'll never know dear, how much I love you,
please don't take, my sunshine away..."
The End.
