A lizard saw a toad
resting on a rock.
He slicked out his tongue
and thought he would have the toad for lunch.
The toad saw the lizard
but he kept still as a mouse.
The lizard walked over by the toad
grabbed him and knocked him off the rock.
The toad got away
and he hopped from stump to stump.
The lizard was disappointed
for he had just lost his lunch.
Feeling cheated and defeated
the lizard finally realized
why bother with a toad
when he could have flies.
