The Characters

Bill
I did not start watching the show until the second season, so I missed out on Bill, the owner of the pizza place. My question is, if he is the owner of the pizza place how come we never see him any more? Is this an unsolved mystery?
Bill was played by Julius Carry, who I did get to see on the short-lived (but excellent show, in my opinion) The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.

Mr. Bauer
Another character I missed out on in the first season, Mr. Bauer, played by the very prolific actor David Ogden Stiers (of M*A*S*H fame), was a guy who hung around the pizza place making strange references to old movies. Can't wait for the reruns to see what he was like!
David Ogden Stiers is currently on the CBS comedy Lowe and Money.

Melissa
Melissa, played by Jennifer Westfeldt, was Pete's girlfriend from the first season. Unfortunately, I started watching the show a little late in the game and missed out on her, too! But I hope to catch her on reruns, hopefully, because she sounds like a really funny character.

Khayman
Khayman is Berg's arch-nemesis at medical school. He is a real type-A personality nerd who is the tops in his study group (but not the class-- that position is held for Ashley!)
Maury Ginsberg does a great job playing Khayman.

Kaitlin Rush
Kaitlin Rush, played by Marguerite MacIntyre, was a news traffic reporter who dated Pete for a while. This was an interesting relationship since Kaitlin was a little older than Pete and had a big-time career going. Also, she had a son, Michael (played by Michael Welch), that Pete would would pal around with sometimes and help with homework.
Eventually, the two decided that it would not work out, so they called it off, but it made for some interesting and funny episodes.
