I saw you today,
From across the street.
You were leaning on the register,
Looking around.
There was no hint,
Of all that hid behind those eyes,
All that was terrified of being discovered.
I closed my eyes,
Trying to imagine,
How I would perceive you if,
I didn't know you,
And I was a stranger,
Watching you from across the street.
