These are also the same officers who say things like "This city, she's a bitch, you fall in love with her, then she kicks you in the teeth. You know you shouldn't love her, but goddammit, you can't help it". It is not widely known, but reliable sources suggest that each of these detectives receive a grant of around half their salary each year from the ministry of well-worn clichés.
