Disc-players are what caterpillars listen to music on, and they operate in the same way that our computer discs do, recording magnetically. In appearance, they are around the size of tapes, and could be spun through like tapes, when formatted one way. Formatted another way, however, and they had separate tracks recorded like files, which could be re-arranged into different orders, split, merged, and generally messed about with as much as the user wanted to, as long as they weren't write protected. The discs could be read by organic or electronic readers, and provided a link between the technologies.
