There were pirates in the Caterpillar world, brave souls who made their living roaming the xylem and phloem in tiny submarine vessels, preying on Caterpillar transport vehicles and plundering Chlorophyll. Large scale transport companies actively employed heavily armed aphids and caterpillars (armed with grappling guns and other non electrical weapons, obviously) to defend their interests by seeking out and destroying pirate vessels
