A Marriage of Souls
For my love Pavel
An e-mail response came
to my cry for love.
On that day, August 1st,
you changed my life:
it now shines with your love-light.
Love grows in my heart,
seeds of trust and friendship planted
are now ripe for picking,
flowers bloom
in our love-garden.
I used to dream of someone
who would love me for a lifetime,
Someone who speaks
the language of my soul
and understands.
Someone who cuts through
the ice of troubles;
and melts my defenses with a smile.
Someone whose soul fits my own
like the missing piece of a jigsaw puzzle,
who knows what I'm thinking without words,
only in a glance, a gaze, or a touch.
It is you that has taught me
your love-lessons
it is you who sees me;
my soul--
the light hiding behind past pain.
Each day merges into the next,
our love ages yet never dies;
mates of the soul,
we wake up beside each other with the sun,
the light of our souls intertwines
and becomes one.

Notes: This poem expresses the change (for the better) in my life when I met (and subsequently started dating) my fiance Pavel. It feels
as though our souls have merged; we have the closest relationship possible.
I have never been happier. :)
