Anyway.. we don't live in that type of world.. at least, most of us don't...nay, the rest of us have niggling doubts about the universe...
But still... is it right to deny death?
It's amazing how loose the terms "humanity" and "humane" are thrown around.. A recent Australian commercial shows a woman dying from some incurable disease..in constant pain.. and she says.."If I were an animal, I would have been put down a long time ago."
Is it not odd that we treat our pets more humanely than family and friends?
Yes, it might be considered suicide... or murder, depending on your view.. but isn't quality of life what matters? Your body's dying.. you can't achieve much in constant pain.. why prolong the inevitable..
I wouldn't say it's a "dignified" death.. but it sure is an easy one... and who wants to die with excruciating pain? I know I wouldn't...
