Nancy's Review of
Email Scrabble

The Email Scrabble Serve has been shut down but can still be played by following theses instructions:

This is a copy of information that was posted from Email Scrabble Forum from Game Talk, which is moderated by Peggy S. This information was given by ZeBeep. This information can also be found at: Scrabble Email Forum The following is a cut and paste from that site:

A friend sent me a copy of this. I'd missed it because it was posted as a reply to an earlier message. I am copying it here as a new message so that everyone will be sure to see it. I hope that is okay. Many thanks to Scrabble Linda. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I've discovered a way to keep playing Hasbro Email Scrabble without using the server! They only used the server to relay the email.

You will first need to delete the file Scrabble.sem from your windows/temp directory

1. Start a game, make your move

2. Select Play Turn

3. When the error message about the game server comes up, select cancel.

4. Leaving the game open, Attach the File Scrabble.sem from Windows/Temp to your email and mail to your opponent. Send your mail.

5. Delete Scrabble.sem from Windows/Temp

Your opponent, making sure he has deleted Scrabble.sem from windows/temp, runs the attachment (Scrabble.sem)you sent and follows the above steps. You just keep passing it back and forth.

You will not find Email Scrabble CD in stores. It may be hard to find players. I would suggest, buying Scrabble II, although there are limited places for playing Scrabble II.

Some players who have upgraded to Windows Me have been unable to get the CD to work. Its been mentioned to me that when using Windows Me you should have at last a 400 processor. Windows 2000, which business normally use, have been unable to use the CD's

Most players are heading to the new on-line site that you don't need a CD at http://www.games.com
