William Henry Uttley was born in September, 1858 in Waterloo Co, Canada West. He was the oldest son of Nathan Uttley and Lucinda (Linder)Randall. He married Katherine (Katie) Debus,born October 16, 1861, daughter ofConrad and Elizabeth Debus. She had two sisters,Elizabeth Debus, born 1866/67, and Christina Debus, born 1868/69. William and Katie were married on December 27,1882 (according to Bill McDill).

William Henry Uttley died around 1930 and Katie Uttley died shortly after.

William Henry Uttley moved from Berlin, (now Kitchener) Ontario at an early age to Zurich, Huron Co, Ontario. He worked for many years as a stationary engineer at the Zurich Flour and Feed Mill which also supplied electrical power for the village of Zurich. William and Katie had eleven children.
