The Not-Very Funpark presents The Aussie/U.S. Translator

As you may or may not have worked out by now, the two curators of this site are Australian, born and bred (I know, the accents give it away ...), and many of our visitors from the United States and Canada are having problems understanding some of the language and colloquialisms. Others have commented that they wish to learn Australian, and wonder, is it too hard?

The answer is, of course, no. The linguistic differences between American/Canadian and Australian are many, but obey certain rules. This is because Australian, unlike many languages, has not evolved but was instead created in 1917 from scratch to boost national morale. So, we proffer the Aussie/U.S. translator for your use! Simply type in the phrase you wish to translate in the upper box, and the lower box will give you a translation.
