Inquest Combos

1. Angelic Chorus and Wall of Junk

Contrary to its name, the Wall of Junk is anything but. Two mana for a seven-toughness blocker is nice, but with Angelic Chorus, it gets a lot nicer. Now, every time you bring your Junk into play, a singing flock of angels rewards you with seven life. Hey, the adage is true... One person's junk is someone's else's treasure. In this case, that someone else is you.

2. Reprocess and Planar Birth

How'd you like to draw a card from every basic land you have in play with no drawbacks? No problem with this sweet combo. Sacrifice all your basic lands to Reprocess, along with any other permanents you don't need and then cast Planar Birth to dump all your basic lands back into play. Instant cardage..

3. Agothian Enchantress and Worship

Here's the big money part of Worship: You won't die. I'll say it again for those not paying attention the first time: You won't die! The catch, of course, is that you're tied to life through your creatures. So you get out the Argothian Enchantress, who can't be targeted by spells or abilites. Plus, she'll give you an extra card if you cast her first.

4. Attunement and Victimize

Back in the day, casting costs weren't exactly optional. With the tons of abilites flying around these days, bringing out your big hitters is easier than pie. Cast Attunement and drop a couple of creatures, sacrifice a creature of choice and bring the two discarded creatures into play. For those of you counting at home, that's two creatures into play for six mana. Mmm, pie.

5. Academy Researchers and Zephid's Embrace

How would you like a 4/4 flyer that can't be targeted for the low,low price of three mana? Sounds good, eh? And while it is kind of stange that the bearers of your card-flipping wrath are a bunch of scrawny bespectacled bookworms, don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

6. Brand and Gilded Drake

Stealing your opponents creatures for a decent casting cost, the Gilded Drake seems like a great deal. But since giving up a blue flyer's kinda hard to swallow, get Urza's favorite way of keeping all his creatures and cattle in check - the economic and quick Brand. Anything that should rightfully be in your possession will once again become yours.

7. Morphling and Hermetic Study

So many choices, such little time. Well, instead of trying to figure out whether you want a flying 2/4 Morphling or a spell-proof 4/2 Morphling, teach him in the ways of pinging things. Tap, ping, pay one blue to untap. Tap, ping, pay one blue to untap. Consider it Magic's version of not-so-low-impact aerobics. Whoever you may be playing will definitely feel the burn.

8. Carrion Beetles and Exhume

Feeling mean? Vindictive? Things got you down? Well, if you gain delight from the misery and frustration of others - and let's face it, who doesn't? - then here's a combo for you. Use the eyeball bugs to clear the creatures from your hapless opponent's graveyard, then start bringing your own back with Exhume. Instant army. Just when you thought there wouldn't be any good combos for common cards, too.

9. Catastrophe and Argothian Wurm

Seems like all the new big creature cards these days have issues and complications behind getting them on the table. With the Argothian Wurn, all your foe has to do is part with a land and the 6/6 trampler pops back to your library. Of course, if they don't have any land, ala Catacl... er, Armage... er, Catastrophe, then the Wurm can roam free, as the wind blows. *sigh*

10. Grafted Skullcap and Imaginary Pet

Little Billy's Imaginary Pet needs some personal space, and so if you have anything else in your hand, it goes back into the closet or under the bed until next turn. But if you slap the Grafted Skullcap on, little Billy's 4/4 friend will be able to "play" with all of the other creatures and stick around indefinitely. Meanwhile, you'll be drawing two cards each turn. Not a bad deal.

11. Karn, Silver Golem and Congregate

Live forever! Or at least for a lot longer with this handy combination shot. Congregation's handy enough, a great way to make close games no longer close by a long shot, but with Karn in play, all of your toys become creatures too. You might want to invest in bigger life counters.
