Hershey!!

Hershey is a dog that I recently found on while feeding my neighbor's goats. He was laying on their front porch when I walked up the driveway and he started to bark. It was raining outside and the porch was dry, so the large black dog refused to leave. He was growling and barking, so I was not very enthused about going anywhere near him. I went and got my older sister, who then entertained the dog by throwing hot dogs at him while I fed my neighbor's animals. He ended up staying on the porch for two days, until my dad was able to lure him off of the porch with milk bones. We eventually made friends with him and brought him to our house. He was, and still is, a very good dog. He is trained and actually listens when you tell him to do something (unlike my other two dogs). He stayed at our house that night and the next day I made signs saying "Found Dog." My sister and I put the signs up in various places in our area. My dad wanted to keep the dog, but didn't want to steal him from a family that loved him already. The following day we recieved a phone call from a woman who claimed it was her dog. She described him perfectly and he responded to the name she gave. His name is Hershey. He was definitely her dog. She wanted to come pick him up right away. While she was on her way, I called my dad to tell him. He was not very happy. He said he was willing to buy the dog from the woman. My mom came home to talk to the lady when she arrived at our house. The woman got to our house and talked for a long time to my mom and sister. She said she had been looking for a home for Hershey for a long time. She had had him since he was a puppy and had bottle fed him, but he required more attention than she could give him. In the end, she gave him to us.
