Erik's father's name was Charles and his mother's was Madeleine.  Charles was
killed on May 3, 1831.  There was an accident on a building site where he was working.
Madeleine was an opera performer. Erik had a cocker spaniel named Sasha.  She was
the only true friend that Erik ever had.  Erik was named after the priest that baptized
him.  Father Mansart; first name Erik.
Erik was born sometime in 1831,  After his father died.  Erik was an acceptional child.
He learned to talk, crawl, and walk before normal children do.  His mother was so 
discusted with his face that she made him wear a mask from the time of birth.  The 
mask she made for him was made out of leather.  On his fifth birthday he asked his
mother for two things.  He wanted two kisses.  One at that moment and the other for
later.  She grew furious and told him he must never ask for that again.  He never
did.  When he was five was the first time that he had a problem with his mask.
He took the mask off half because he was mad at his mother and becaus it left
sore places on his face from being too small.  As punishment for taking off his
mask outside of his own room, Madeleine made him look at his bare face in a mirror.
This scared him so bad that he shattered the mirror.  Erik had night mares about
the face he had seen in the mirror.  From that day forth he had an obsession with
mirrors.  His mother put him in a room in the attic where he was locked in at night.
When he was eight she discovered that he was sneaking to the church to play the organ.
He was seen by people in the villiage and they became angry.  They became so angry 
that one night they went to his house and started throwing rocks at the house and 
call him out.  When Madeleine opened the door Sasha ran out and the angry mobbed 
killed her.  When Erik went out to get her he was also slashed and stabbed.  When
Father Mansart told Erik that animals don't go to heaven Erik cursed God and that was
the night he decided to leave and go on his own journey through life.  He went to 
many different places before staying in the tunnles of Paris.  This is where he met
Christine.  She was a performer in the opera.  She played the lead role.  Erik watched
the opera from Box 5 which he let evryone know was his special box and no one was
to be seated there.  He helped Christine with her music in the tunnles where he kept
his pipe organ.  He had a beautiful voice himself.  Erik fell in love with Christine
who was in love with Raoule.  Before Erik died he gave his blessing for Christine and
Raoule to be married.  His only request was that Christine come back to see him the
night before her wedding.  She went back to him to find him dying.  She locked her-
self into the room with him and didn't come out till morning.  That is when she made
the announcement that Erik was dead.  Christine and Raoule proceeded with the wedding
and nine months later she gave birth to a very beautiful little boy.  His name was
Charles.  There was no doubt in either of their minds that Erik was the father of
Charles.  He had the same musical talent and speed of growing up that Erik did. 
Raoule love Charles just as though he were biologically his.  No love could have 
been stronger.
