As you already know I am interested in poetry.  Not only do I like to read it, I
also like to write it.  Here are a few poems by friends of mine and myself that I
thought you would enjoy reading.  This is the place I call home.There are more to

When I sleep I see you there,
But when I wake, You disappear.
I hear your voice through out the day,
But can't make out the words you say.
I feel your warmth when I am cold.
I know it is you that I long to hold.
As you know we are far apart,
But you will always live deep in my heart.
The distance between us is too much to bear.
So I will close my eyes to see you there.
Until time allows us to finally touch,
In my heart I will love you oh so much.

Boys like to play around with things,
To see just how they run.
When it comes to kissing,
They do it just for fun.
They never give their heart away,
They play you for a fool.
They wait until you give them yours,
Then they play it cool.
I won't ever fall in love again,
I won't ever go astray.
It only causes broken hearts,
It happens every day.
You see my friend,
I know this feelings true.
I ought to know this feeling,
'Cause I fell in love with you.

Heavenly Father, please hear me tonight,
I need so much guidance to live my life right.
Sometimes the pressure is so hard to bear,
I often wonder if anyone cares.
How can I wake up and face a new day,
Knowing I have to live my life this crazy way.
Heavenly Father, forgive all my sins, I want to change,
But where do I begin?
Give me strength to resist the wild life I desire,
Help me get away from the nightly gun fire.
Please God, bless my family whose eyes silently plead,
For me not to go out as they watch me leave.
And God bless my mother and father who cries every night,
Worrying I will be killed in yet another gun fight.
Heavenly Father, please answer my prayers,
Please let me know that you are listening up there.
when will it end? What's it all for?
To prove to my homies! Yeah, I'm down...I'm hard-core.
Sometimes I even wonder how will I die,
By a bullet wound...or a knife in my side.
Heavenly Father, please hear me tonight,
Give me the courage and strength to live my life right.
Please show the way, Lord show me the light.
Help give my heart peace so I don't have to fight.
Thank you for your forgiveness, Lord and for still being there.
