According to Johnson: “It’s funny because [the writers] always referred to me as Detective West. And then I picked up the script and it sad, ‘Detective Lisa.’ [I was} like, ‘Who’s Detective Lisa? Oh, it’s me! I have a name!’” She confides that when she first came on the show, the first name was initially given was different. “Back then it was Mei West. It was going to be in one script; it was a joke. I was referred to as Mei by John Sykes [John Bolger] and RJ [Timothy D. Stickney]. But when my character became more of a person and had contact with other characters, [the powers-that-be] thought we’d better give her a real name, so I became Lisa. Thank God! -from Soap Opera Digest |
