Character: Antonio Vega
Born in Puerto Rico, Kamar moved to the United States when he was two years old. He grew up in Las Vegas surrounded by the artistic influences of his family members --- his father, Walfredo Sr., and two brothers, Walfredo Jr. and Danny, are musicians. Kamar began acting at age 20 and moved to Los Angeles after college to pursue his career. He started out as a dancer and appeared in several music videos before landing a job on the television series, "Dirty Dancing." Shortly thereafter, he appeared in the ABC movie for television, "Lady Killers." His feature film credits include "I'll Do Anything," with Nick Nolte, "Father Hood," with Patrick Swayze, and "Street Knight," with Jeff Speakman. In 1994, Kamar came to New York to make his off-Broadway debut in "Blade to the Heat," where he stayed for four months before returning to L.A. to begin a recurring role on the hit series, "ER." Shortly thereafter, Kamar headed east once again after being cast as Ferdinand in the Shakespeare in the Park presentation of "The Tempest" in New York City. It was while performing in "The Tempest" that Kamar was cast on "One Life to Live." In addition, Kamar can be seen in the Oliver Stone film, "Nixon." In 1997, he decided to leave "One Life To Live" in hopes of enhancing his career. He was cast as Father Tomas Alvarez on the CBS drama, "Four Corners". After the show was cancelled, he placed a small role in the ABC made for TV movie, "Blood On Her Hands", as lawyer Gavin Kendrick. He went on to play the lead role in the independent movie, "The Relators". He also had a recurring role on the TV series "Promised Land" for a while. He then went on to help his brother Daniel make an album. He now is set to return to "One Life To Live" in February 2000. When not working, he enjoys reading, basketball, softball, and writing screenplays, but considers lounging in a hammock his favorite activity. Kamar currently resides in Manhattan with his wife Elaine. They welcomed their first baby boy on July 24, 1997. -from The Unofficial Fan Club of Kamar de los Reyes
