Nathan Purdee Interviews
Meet Hank
Nathan Purdee
|
Character: Hank Ganon Nathan Purdee has packed a lot of living into a relatively short number of years. Born in Tampa, Florida, he has also lived in Washington, D.C.; Bakersfield, California; Kaiserslautern, Germany; and Denver, Colorado -- and that’s just through high school! He has also spent time in several professions along the way, but now he's concentrating on just three of them: Acting, producing and painting. Purdee originated the role of One Life to Live's Hank 'the Cannon' Gannon, a streetwise ex-cop, turned maverick district attorney. Prior to his role on One Life to Live, Purdee had a two-day stint on The Young and the Restless as Nathan Hastings, that soon became a seven-year contract. Next came a short-term part on Santa Barbara, after which Purdee spent his 1989 summer vacation starring in his first feature film, playing the lead in The Return of Superfly. The film was shot on location in Connecticut, New York and Paris. Upon his return from Europe, Purdee the artist sold his first painting to, appropriately enough, a Parisian art collector. Since his move to New York, in an effort to create opportunity for himself and the talent pool surrounding him, Purdee has started his own production company, Karmic Release, Ltd. Purdee has just finished as executive producer on his first film - Wallowitch & Ross: THIS MOMENT, a documentary that is currently running in film festivals. -from ABC Daytime
