Power Descripiton: The damping field of Steel's hammer increases its inertia relative to the distance it is thrown. The farther it goes, the harder it hits. Computerized armor vastly increases his strength, while boot jets enable flight.

Inspired by the original Man of Steel, John Henry Irons forged his foridable armor and adopted the identity of Steel following Superman's death. Having proved himself by aiding Eath against Darkseid in the "Genesis" crisis, Steel joined the JLA following their hubling battle with the Injustice Gang. His first JLA adventure almost proved disastrous when the hero-killer Prometheus infiltrated the Watchtower and sabotaged Steel's computerized armor. But the JLA's new techno-whiz soon turned the tables, seizing Prometheus's own systems and forcing his retreat. With the advanced technology of the JLA's Watchtower at his disposal, Steel has set up his own workshop on the Moon, becoming the JLA's resident scientist and artisan. Recently, Steel has dabbled in the wonderous Boom Tube and Mother Box technology brought to the JLA from New Genesis by fellow members Orion and Big Barda.
