.........All About Circe
I adopted a hedgehog!
His name is Hedgie!! Active little fellow, isn't he?
Here's a picture of him at bedtime!
Hi! I feel like a big ham talking about myself, but I'll give it a whirl : )
(better get
yourself a snack)
I'm a
southwestern girl. I am originally from California, but I've
lived in Arizona most of my life. I probably always will.
I love Hanson or I wouldn't be on this page, but here's
a lump of who and what else I listen to:
Kenny Wayne Shepherd...early Bruce...Stevie Nicks...Smashmouth (I
just wanna squeeeeze Steve Hartwell)...Hole...L7...Dwight
Yoakam...Jeff Healey (DUDE! Make another album! It's
TIME!)...nirvana...*sigh*...bagpipes...bluegrass...Tracy
Chapman...Steve Earle...Billie Holiday...actually, this would
take up a page in itself, so I'll leave it there.
BOOKS are a huge part of my life. Mainly history, but I did read
The Thornbirds cover to cover 15 times.
HISTORY is big with me. As a subject in school, it usually sucks
because it's not presented very well, but when you get into it on
your own time, it's completely different. Honest.
My favorite TV shows past and present:
The Waltons
The Young Riders (WHY did they take this off?!)
Kids In The Hall
Whose Line Is It Anyway? (The new one with Drew)
Way back when, I used to be in Job's Daughters, Bethel #23. I
held four stations, First Messenger and Chaplain being my
favorites. That was the last organization I was in. I'm not much
for "joining" things.
Shameless fact: I almost got run over while picking up a penny.
Hey, I'm not too proud! Or too rich, evidently. : )
Things I say too often (that are fit to print):
"Let the pony ride"
"Bluer than a revenuer's Buick"
"Cool"
"Dude"
Circe is not my real name. In mythology, Circe is a sorceress who
turned Odysseus' men into swine. I like both pigs and mythology,
so it kind of stuck. I couldn't change it now even if I wanted
to. : )
I don't like sunrises. I do like the moon, though.
Saying that I identify with:
"Go to your studio and make stuff!" I am always making
something. I can completely lose myself in whatever I'm creating.
Stuff that creeps me out:
Weird plants. Twisty ones like "Contorted Hazelnut."
eww. Or cockscomb celosia- those red velvety flowers that look
like big brains on a stem. EWW! Why did God make those things?!
The umbilical cord thing in an egg. I have to take a fork and
remove it. EWW!
I'm always reading about paranormal stuff.
Ghosts...spirits...hauntings..weird electrical happenings. That
stuff intrigues me. Not UFOs though. They probably exist, but I
hope not. : (
Lizzie Borden. You might know who she is, but if you don't...she
was a woman accused of murdering her father and stepmother. In
the late 19th century. With an axe. I suppose worse murders have
happened, but this one CREEPS me OUT in a BIG way. Maybe it's the
clothes or the creepy eyes she had, I don't know. Pull up a
search if you want, but warning!!! The pictures are bad. EWW!!!!!
Even creepier: Her house (where the crime happened) is now an
inn! In Fall River, Massachusetts. You can sleep there and have
breakfast there. Who came up with this idea?! EWW!!!!
Commercials that irk me:
1. That one they have on late-night VH1, with the man walking
through some impoverished village. He says, "Poor little
Maria has to walk these filthy streets with no shoes." DUDE!
That same commercial's been running for two years! Why haven't
you bought that girl some shoes yet?!
2. "Did somebody say McDonald's?" No! Nobody said
McDonald's! Now shut up! Grr.
3. Any of
those Bo-Flex, Butt-Flex, Gut Whacker, Butt Blaster or
Nordic-Track ads. I'd like to see something called
"Brain-Flex" for a change. Geez.
I wear a pentacle. A five-point star within a circle. It
represents spirit ascended from matter. You may see this on
Wiccan people. I'm not a satanist. Just wanted to clear that up.
Carrot Top is my favorite comedian. He's a prop comic. I just
went to his website and he says he listens to "anything but
the freakin' Hansons." That was hard to swallow, but he
might wise up one day. : )
Stuff I love to collect Buttons (the kind with sayings on them)
postcards, crystal balls, pig items, foreign coins, wheat
pennies, earrings, keyrings, seashells, mermaid things.
Hmm...I guess that ought to do it. If there's something you'd
like to know or something you'd like to tell me, you can find me
at circe@the-lair.com or click on the handy little flying
pig!!
