DREAMING

As January comes around,
so cold and lots of snow covering the ground,
You find yourself thinking about the year that past
A year, you cannot change and went by so fast.
Life is hectic nowadays,
everyday that same quick pace.
New years resolutions so well made, by an adult or a child
start off so well, but later in the year run wild.
Come March, you feel really blue
and dream of summer, the favorite season for you
In April things are looking better
sometimes you feel it already, that sunny weather.
Spring is in the air,
it does funny things to people every year
You start again: a new beginning,you feel it in your blood
The coming months are going to be good.
The trees welcome you with their green coats
Birds are back singing wonderfull notes
Children playing together in their yards,
People come closer, not hidden far apart.
Gardens show colourfull blooms of flowers,
leaving a nice smell, lasting for hours,
Also the aroma of fresh cut grass hangs in the air,
Mix everything together and it will last you all year!
From the past you cannot change a thing,
but look on the bright side of all the good a new spring can bring.
Lots of sunshine, especially in your heart does wonders for you
and others too.

GATEWAY OF A NEW YEAR

Another New Year's gate now opens wide
Inviting us to come and look inside
And turn our eyes from history that is dead
To prophecies and dreams that lie ahead
The future lies before us and like clay
Gives us a new chance to mold it as we may
We stand upon the treshold of a door
That closes now on all thats gone before
It is irretrievable, and beautifull angels will keep
The record,untill its harvest we shall reap
Since yesterday is buried with the past
We can't recall it, for the die is cast
The past is static, nothing we do now
Can change the record or new life endow
The future is dynamic, that's our clue
To transform it into something wonderfull by everything we do
So plan your resolutions and make them great
As Christ now leads you through this New Year's Gate
Happy New Year to all so dear
Let's make it together the best year!!

HAPPY THOUGHTS

Happy thoughts can help us to have a happy day
Most of the people will have this to say
Looking at our family and friends at their good points
Will make us feel much better in our minds and joints
All of us have good and bad habits, none of us are perfect to a T
With that you will all have to agree
How nice it is,when people have nice words to say
It makes us happy and helps to have a pleasant day
Happy words can make a gloomy day bright
And one better able to see things in a new light
Every Little thing can help us have happiness for sure
Just as wrong words will make it much harder to endure
So start each new day off with Happy thoughts in mind
And share them with loved ones,the everlasting kind

GOOD FRIENDS

Each day i am truly impressed
with so many true friends i have been blessed
Good friends are here for me each day and night
to call on for laughter and cheers oh so bright
No matter what the time of day
no "i need you" I have to say
They ask no questions but are on-line
and make the time well spent and oh so fine
With the click of a mouse
We reach out to each others house
Through the technology of an electric screen
We connect so well, allthough we can't be seen
Good friends do favours without a selfish spark
and stay with you till way after dark
They forget about their troubles to help you with yours, if they are able
and all this makes the friendship enduring and stable
They stay together through good times and bad
and share in lotsa secrets happy and sad
They can talk about anything without offense
and leave a good feeling, a happy sence
They are not envious of each other at all,
and thrive on pushing each other up the ladder,making sure we don't fall,
Together we climb up that ladder of success
and are proud of that to say the best.
We all need a helping hand or opinion in any matter
and enjoy to express ourselves in happy chatter
Yes it can be very addicting at times to meet each friend
But it also relaxes and to the rewards you reap there is no end
So happily we keep connecting in our favorite chat, thats true
no matter if its in yahoo,powwow or ICQ
Because our friends are so very dear
and sometimes we wish they were not far, but near
And hope to keep the friendship going for many a year!!

TO MY DEAR DAUGHTER JOLANDA

December 2nd,1977 was a very special day indeed,
as on that day i met and held my firstborn girl, a pretty one everyone agreed :o)
Fingers and toes oh so small,
i could not help but count them all..LOL
My sis Anita came for support during labour hours, that seemed so long,
and tried to distract me with "monopoly" and many a song.. LOL
She was excited as well...
this was to be her first godchild, camera was ready to capture every moment but she "forgot" to fast forward LOL what a spell!!
The nurse in attendence i still remembered well from school when i was 16,
he put me at ease with flair and jokes and kept me clean :o)
9 hours went by..and this labour was all new to me,
but...one more push and there she was!! Jolanda was born for all the world to see..:)
I was so proud when that little pink bundle was placed in my arms close to my heart,
it seemed so long, doctors and nurses pacing around washing her and praising, while it was only 5 minutes apart :o)
I could not stop smiling bright and watching her perfect little body so small,
she looked so frail, like a little doll:)
We stayed in hospital for 4 days in a row,
as a new mom i got taught to wash her with care and feed her and watch her grow :o)
All was so exciting to me, so new you know..!! :o)
then came the sad news...Jolanda lost some weight and had to be placed in incubator in order to "grow"..
I was devestated... but mind was quickly put at ease,
10 days later u were safely home all healthy..all worries ceased.:o)
Many visitors came and happy aunties and uncles gave presents galore
and u put smiles on everyones face, what was there about u not to adore??:)
Your cute little nose and gorgeous eyes so blue
I could not help but be very proud to have u!!
The following month went by filled with joy
lotsa pics of your first smile,first teeth and favorite toy
Your first birthday was a very memorable one indeed
U charmed everyone with your cute little coes and flashed your teeth:o)
Your first steps in life also special as can be
also discovering Holland by bike (in seat up front LOL) with mommy
a very smart and sweet girl u grew up to be too soon daughter dear
and age 4 u made a huge trip to Canada to live there many a year!
U learned the new language with ease and in no time flat
mommy was so proud of u, U can bet on that!
You loved it when your little brother came along
and played and helped too, and sang many a song
A few years later a little sister was by your site yippee!
always caring and happy and memories filled with glee
I could go on for months telling the story dear
but have to end this poem with flair
Just want u to know your life has brought many a smile
U have grown into a beautifull young woman so fine
And i am proud of what u have accomplished in your 22 years
May all the Best Of Luck, Love and Good health shine on u and no tears
I hope i taught u the most important ingredients in life well
and may it guide u to a Happy life filled with Love U deserve so well
One day u will spread your wings and fly daughter dear
But i know in our hearts we will never be far apart and always near
Because u will always be special and have a reserved spot in my heart

TO MY DEAR SON ROBERT

March 11,1983 was a very happy day
because in my arms i held you my son, a treasure to stay
Your first cry was heard by all
But that was a happy sign, a blessing for all
The nurse brought you to me, wrapped in a blanket so blue
and all i could do was happily stare at you
I counted your fingers and your toes,
and admired your cute little nose
and smiled happily and filled with joy,
because you were a healthy boy!
Your eyes so cute and blue,
you were a dream come true
we cuddled and i held you close and cradled you in my arm
you even stole the nurses hearts with your early charm
It felt so right, it felt so good,
to hold you, inspired my motherhood
I could not wait for the day
to bring you home to stay
Your room was ready and everyone was filled with joy
To meet you my sweet baby boy
The next months where joyfull and went by way too fast
snapping pictures of all the great moments to make them last
Sister Jolanda was also happy as can be
She now had a brother and playmate and it filled her with glee
Your first smile and first word, every moment was special to me
your first birthday came way to soon,but was filled with glee
Your first steps came right after and you were fast to discover with your charming smile
all the mischief you could get into and make us run a mile
an active boy from the start
and showing early signs of being smart
I could go on for hours to come, but have to end it with style
Just want you to know your life has brought many a smile
I wish you all the best in life my son, so dear
May all the luck,love,good health and wealth smile at you at every turn and each and every year
Hope i taught you the right things in life, all well meant and with love
In time you will spread your wings and fly like a dove
I know we will never be far apart
Because you will always be special and close to my heart!!

TO MY DEAR DAUGHTER MICHELLE

August 27,1986 we made a little twirl
because i held you in my arms my baby girl!!
sugar and spice and everything nice does not tell the tale
the emotions i felt, seeing you so perfect and frail
Your eyes so bright and sparkling too
our sweet baby girl, another dream come true!
every day the nurse brought you wrapped in a blanket so pink
you layed in my arms so contented, enjoying your drink
I just cradled you with love and friends came to see
this little girl that made us happy as can be!!
You were so tiny and hands and feet so small
I made very sure not to let you fall
The day came that we could go home to your new house to stay
and brother Robbie and sister Jolanda were tickled pink , a cute little sister with whom they could play
your room was made ready with care and you were a bundle of joy
gifts were received and many a toy
In the months to come your smile brightened our day
and we made many a camera shot with you in action and play
Your first smile so early on, your first words, and your dummy by your side
happily making every day bright
Every moment was special and it was fun seeing you grow up,so neat
and blossom into this beautifull young girl, so smart, happy and sweet
I could go on for many more hours my daughter fine
but have to end this also with some extra special line
I just want you to know my daughter dear
You have brought also many joys every year
I wish you all the Luck, Love, Health and Wealth in every choice you make
and will be there for you if in doubt what road to take
Hope you picked up the right pointers i tried to share
and continue to live happily each and every year!!
The day will come when i will also have to let you fly out like an eagle so free
spread your wings happy ...but hope you will agree...
Never will we stray far apart
because my sweet girl you will forever be special and close to my heart
