Burial

Did you ever stop and wonder why we bury people in coffins when they die?  The only reason I can think of is tradition.  Personally, I think its rediculus that people are being buried in air tight sealed coffins.  It slows down the whole circle of life.  People are supposed to be a part of that circle too, ya know.  When we die, we are supposed to eventually become part of the earth (our bodies anyway), so that other forms of life can feed off of us, and then future human beings feed off of the animals.  I think that when a person dies, the same as if an animal were to die, they should be buried in the ground.. I mean.. just them.  No coffin.  No tombstone.  Now think with me for a minute here... imagine how many people there are in the world right now.  Now realize that in about 50-100 years, we will all be dead.  Then think about the whole next generation and the generation after that.  Eventually, we're going to run out of room for all these coffins and tomb stones.  Imagine trying to live in a world where everywhere you looked, you saw tombstones sticking up.  I think its rediculus.  When a person dies, I believe that their body dies and their soul moves on.  Therefor, to go to a graveyard and pray to a dead body seems ludicrous.  What is the point of having state of the art, top of the notch coffins anyway?  The person who will be occupying that coffin isn't going to care what it looks like or how comfortable it is when their time comes to actually lay in it.  The whole reason people waste their money on fancy coffins is to impress their friends and relatives.  And living people who actually go pick out their own coffins... well.. that makes me sick!  Are you that anxious to die?  You should be spending your money on friends and family members for your last moments together... Not on a stupid coffin!   I don't believe in cremation either.  That, also, is robbing nature of its nurture.  You know who started all this coffin nonsense?  The Egyptions!  Yes, that is who I blame.  Honestly though, if you really think about it.. I mean REALLY think about it.. I'm sure you'll realize that the only reason we do this is because of tradition.  I think bodies should be buried without the coffin, and that tombstones should be nothing more than a wooden cross with (perhaps) a name on it.  That's just the way it should be in my opinion.
