A CROWN?

Take a look at the word crown.
You may think of the crown that a king wears.
But there ia another meaning.
It can mean the highest honor.
Long ago an athlete who won a race was given a wreath of leaves.
It was placed on his head to show he was being honored.
The Bible says that living for Jesus is like running a race.
If we do what pleases HIm,
we will receive an honor or a crown.
But we mus live according to God's rules.
The crown of leaves the athlete receuved was cirryotubke--
it would spoil,
fade away,
and die.
But we will wiln an incorruptible crown,
a reward that will not fade away.

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run,
but one receives the prize?
Run in such a way that you may obtain it.

And everyone who competes for the prize is termperate in all things.
Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown,
but we for an imperishable crown.
