~Forever~
Forever Together
Companions by Maija

Words From My Heart

As I lay here tonight
My thoughts drift back to the sound of your voice
The wonderment I feel for finding you
You have opened up my world, to let the sun shine in
You have lifted my burden
that has been holding me down
My heart sings of joy and laughter
whenever your voice echoes in my ear
You've restored my faith in the word LOVE
In our hearts and in our souls
we know we will be as one
Forever together, Forever whole
Forever partners, Forever lovers, Forever best friends
The distance apart in miles, we share together
Making us strong for the day we meet
The warm touch of your embrace won't feel new to me
The softness of your lips won't surprise me
The love in your heart I have felt many times
And I know our love will be forever
These words are my own and from my heart
I'll Always Love You.

~The Heart~
Landscape of the Heart
Original artwork by M. Buchfink

Landscape of the Heart

The landscape of the heart varies from person to person.
Some hearts thrive on conquest, meeting their love of life
through the challenges they overcome.
The boldness of this kind of heart may contain
a landscape fraught with the sheer, granite fronts
of mountain peaks, high above the timberline.
Other hearts thrive on gentleness and may reflect
a landscape of soft wild flowers, covering a green meadow
that slopes to a calm pond.
Some hearts paint the picture of wastelands,
because life has been a struggle
with many burdens to bear.
Wild hearts may mirror the passion of a tropical storm
or the fiery eruption of volcanoes on an island
that represents their independent natures.
Passive and bored hearts can sketch a horizon
with nothing more than a line to define
between earth and colorless sky.
The broken heart is like a shattered mirror,
each piece bearing a different picture of some form of
lost or unrequited love. This heart represents the
unmended suffering of humankind. Every human being
feels this kind of fragmentation at one time or another.
We encounter this shattering of the heart's landscape
when we lose loved ones through death, when we come to
the end of a friendship, when we love without having that
love returned. When we experience this kind of pain,
our next step is in learning to heal it.

~Joy~
Joy

I feel the sun on my face,
It is the warmth of your love.
Your hand caresses my cheek
With the breeze from above.
Your moist kiss on my lips
Brought by drops of warm rain.
My heart's filled with joy,
I'm in your arms once again.

~Paths~
Destination Unknown
Artwork by L. Bogle

The life I shared with you was full of flowers,
but even flowers fade, as do rainbows and
the smiles we used to share, remember?
Our paths were joined for our chosen time
and together we grew stronger than
we would have grown alone.
But now, my love, I must go beyond this place
we share together, to a destination still unknown.
My heart is filled with love and sorrow,
joy and anticipation.
Our common journey taught us to value
one another's causes, just as it opened the door
to our individual claims.
I do not love you less for deserting our common path,
for the memory of each step is what sustains me
as I grope toward higher ground.
Oh, my love, I thank you for
never letting go of my hand...

~Danced with the Wind~
Danced with the Wind
Artwork by T. Sodd

Yes, I have danced with the wind...
In my first summers,
The wind and I frolicked in fields of sunshine.
We made dandelion spirits fly to the heavens
And watched as they gently returned to earth.
As my summers grew in numbers,
My wind and I became strong.
We danced headlong to unknown places,
Throwing caution aside.
Those were the summers of my youth.
The summers of seeking.
The wind and I danced a rebel's dance.
Soon the wind softened, We danced to another song.
This dance brought a lover's kiss to my lips,
A gentle caress to my cheeks.
As we danced, I learned to love and be loved.
Many summers have passed and now it is Fall.
The wind whispers to me and holds me close.
It has become a soft, warm breeze and sings to me.
While we wait to dance our final dance...
Yes, I have danced with the wind...

~I Will Be There~
I Will Be There

And if I go while you're still here...
Know that I live on, vibrating to a different measure...
Behind a thin veil you cannot see through.
You will not see me, so you must have faith.
I wait for the time when we can soar together again...
Both aware of each other.
Until then, live life to its fullest.
And when you need me,
Just whisper my name in your heart...
I will be there.
