To promote her appearance in the special Inside Sports Swimsuit Issue, Carmen was the second guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The first was actor Bill Paxton. Here goes......
JAY LENO: My next guest is a beautiful woman. She stars on Baywatch and is also on the cover of the magazine Inside Sports. The Inside Sports Swimsuit Issue airs in June...please welcome Carmen Electra. (Carmen walks out smiling wearing a lovely sparkling goldish brown dress, then takes a seat and the interview begins) LENO: Good to see you. CARMEN ELECTRA: Nice to see you. LENO: You look lovely. CARMEN: Thank you. LENO: I saw you a couple weeks ago. You were in Chicago? CARMEN: Yes you did. LENO: Now let me ask you something. This big rumor is that you and Dennis Rodman are getting married. Is this true? CARMEN: Well you know, I've always wanted to marry a drag queen. That's always been my dream. I figured we could share make-up tips, we could wear each others clothes. So I think it could last. LENO: But you didn't answer my question. Is that true? CARMEN: (laughs) No. LENO: Oh it's not true? CARMEN: It's not true, no. LENO: So you're not going to fight over the wedding dress. It's not going to happen? CARMEN: (laughs) No. LENO: Do you think you would make a good couple? CARMEN: I think so. I think we would. I mean, during an interview Dennis said that I was taking care of the big guy. Well ya know, if he had a big guy, maybe I would take care of it. LENO: Well this relationship is off to a good start! CARMEN: Bring it on in here Dennis! Bring it on in here! LENO: But when you bring someone like Dennis home to meet the family. How does that go? How does your family react to Dennis? CARMEN: My grandmother loves him. She's the only one in my family that really wants to meet him. LENO: What about your dad? CARMEN: Oh, I don't know about dad. LENO: Is Dennis a little too wild and crazy for dad? CARMEN: A little bit. Just a little. LENO: You've gone out with alot of sort of eccentric kind of guys. You used to date Prince the Artist Formerly Known as Prince. What does he call himself these days? CARMEN: I guess "The Artist." I haven't talked to him for awhile so I'm not sure. But, I only date men that wear high heels. LENO: So this is a little bit your fault? CARMEN: Do you have any in your closet Jay? LENO: Uh, no I don't. Have you ever gone out with a normal guy, like a guy that sells mutual funds? CARMEN: Yeah I have. Absolutely. LENO: But you and Dennis are still friends right? CARMEN: Yeah were friends. LENO: So what happened on Baywatch? All the tabloids are circulating you guys got canned on Baywatch. Is that true? CARMEN: No I didn't get fired from Baywatch. I have a development deal with the WB. So I have my own show. LENO: You're going to have your own show? CARMEN: Yeah. LENO: What do you want to play on your own show? CARMEN: Myself! What else? (laughs) LENO: I mean, is it a comedy or what? CARMEN: We don't know yet whether it's going to be a sitcom or a drama. We just know hired writers. So it's all new. LENO: So if you write it and it's not funny, it's a drama? CARMEN: Absolutely. There you go. There you go. LENO: Now let me ask you about this Inside Sports. Where did you shoot this? CARMEN: We shot in Alaska. We had to take this helicopter over the top of glaciers and on to a mountain top. It was so beautiful. LENO: It looks like it was very cold. How cold was it? CARMEN: Oh, it was very cold Jay. I had to wear boots and a $17,000 coat. The whole time I was wearing it everyone was telling me to be careful and it was a very expensive coat and they had to return it. LENO: So they borrowed it? CARMEN: Yeah they borrowed it. But it kept me warm. LENO: Well I can see why you'de need a coat walking around the snow like that in a bathing suit. So what happened with the coat? CARMEN: (laughs) Once I got on top of the mountain I realized I had to use the restroom. And obviously there's no restroom on top of a mountain. So I made the crew turn around. I went around the helicoper and held the coat in front of me. I bent down and start to use the restroom, and afterwards I looked down and realized I.....missed the snow and I hit the coat! LENO: Did they say anything about the coat? CARMEN: They don't know until now Jay. LENO: Oh now they know? CARMEN: Now they know. I'm sure someone else is wearing it right now. They'll know too. LENO: So no one said anything to you? CARMEN: No. I was so embarresed. I put the coat on and I had to finish shooting for the rest of the day. It was pretty disgusting. LENO: How long were you walking around the snow in a bathing suit? CARMEN: We were up there for about 3 hours. The helicopter actually left us up there. So we were stranded. It was pretty scary. LENO: Well, congradulations. Thank you for coming. Say hello to Dennis for me. LENO: Carmen Electra everybody! We'll be right back with the music of Fastball! |
